Troubleshooting: an EtherChannel that will not come up

Two switches should share an LACP port-channel trunk for VLANs 10 and 20, but users cannot reach each other. Find the bundling and trunk faults and fix them.

About 25 minutes 6 devices 3 tasksAdvanced

Scenario

After a change window, SW1 and SW2 should be joined by Port-channel 1 (LACP, Gi0/1 and Gi0/2) carrying VLANs 10 and 20 as a trunk. PCs in the same VLAN on different switches can no longer reach each other. Use `show etherchannel summary`, `show interfaces trunk`, `show spanning-tree` and the running configs to find every fault.

Your tasks

  1. Port-channel 1 forms with LACP and both member links on both switches.
  2. PC1 can ping PC3 (VLAN 10).
  3. PC2 can ping PC4 (VLAN 20).

The lab checks the result, not the exact commands. For example, a ping task passes only when the ping really succeeds through the network you built.
