Troubleshooting: NAT and an edge ACL
The office lost internet access after a change on the edge router. Find the NAT and ACL faults that break outbound traffic and the published web server.
Scenario
R1 translates the office LAN (192.168.1.0/24) to its outside address with PAT and publishes SRV (192.168.1.50) as 203.0.113.5. An inbound ACL, OUTSIDE_IN, must keep telnet to R1 blocked from the internet. After last night's change PC1 cannot ping 8.8.8.8 or open the outside web server WEB, and outside users cannot reach SRV. Find every fault with `show ip nat translations`, `show ip nat statistics`, `show access-lists` and the running config, and fix them. Keep the telnet block.
Your tasks
- PC1 can ping 8.8.8.8.
- PC1 can open the outside web server WEB (198.51.100.10, TCP 80).
- WEB can open the published server at 203.0.113.5 (TCP 80), and telnet to R1 from outside stays blocked.
The lab checks the result, not the exact commands. For example, a ping task passes only when the ping really succeeds through the network you built.
