EIGRP: adjacencies, feasible successors and path control

Bring up EIGRP on a triangle of routers, then steer traffic onto the longer path with delay while keeping the direct link as a feasible successor.

About 35 minutes 5 devices 3 tasksAdvanced

Scenario

R1, R2 and R3 form a triangle; PC3's LAN (192.168.3.0/24) hangs off R3. Run EIGRP AS 100 on every router-to-router link and advertise the LANs without sending hellos onto them. The direct R1–R3 link is a cheap backup circuit, so R1 must send traffic for 192.168.3.0/24 through R2 and keep the direct link only as a loop-free backup (a feasible successor). Do it with the interface delay, not by shutting anything down.

Your tasks

  1. EIGRP AS 100 adjacencies are up on all three router-to-router links.
  2. Both LANs are advertised, the LAN interfaces send no hellos, and PC1 can ping PC3.
  3. R1 reaches 192.168.3.0/24 through R2 (10.0.12.2), and the direct link via 10.0.13.2 stays a feasible successor.

The lab checks the result, not the exact commands. For example, a ping task passes only when the ping really succeeds through the network you built.
