ENCOR lab 4
eBGP peering and prefix advertisement
Peer three autonomous systems with eBGP, advertise each LAN with network statements, and follow a prefix across two AS hops.
About 30 minutes 5 devices 3 tasksIntermediate
Scenario
Three organisations exchange routes with eBGP: R1 is AS 65001, R2 is AS 65002 (the transit provider) and R3 is AS 65003. Each router owns one LAN. Peer R1–R2 and R2–R3 on their directly connected links, advertise each LAN into BGP, and make sure PC1 reaches PC3 across AS 65002. Use the router IDs 1.1.1.1, 2.2.2.2 and 3.3.3.3.
Your tasks
- eBGP sessions R1–R2 and R2–R3 are Established.
- Each router advertises its LAN; R1 learns 192.168.3.0/24 by BGP and R3 learns 192.168.1.0/24.
- PC1 can ping PC3 through AS 65002.
The lab checks the result, not the exact commands. For example, a ping task passes only when the ping really succeeds through the network you built.
