PL-900 Demonstrate the capabilities of Microsoft Copilot Studio Practice Test 3 — 15 Questions

Question 1

A facilities team built a copilot in Microsoft Copilot Studio that answers questions about building access policies. The knowledge is stored in a public Microsoft SharePoint site. Users report the copilot returns generic answers instead of citing the policy documents. The maker confirmed the SharePoint URL is added as a knowledge source. What should the maker verify first?

Choose an answer to begin — your selection is scored in the full session.

Accepted Answer

That the SharePoint site is published and the copilot's knowledge source is enabled and indexed.. When a copilot returns generic answers despite a configured SharePoint knowledge source, the most likely cause is that the source is disabled or has not finished indexing. Generative answers require an enabled, indexed source to retrieve and cite content. Confirming enablement and index status is the correct first diagnostic action before altering channels, themes, or authentication.

Answer

That the copilot's authentication mode is set to no authentication.

Answer

That the copilot is published to the correct Microsoft Teams channel.

Answer

That the SharePoint site uses a custom theme with the correct branding.

Question 2

A company has a Microsoft Copilot Studio copilot that answers product questions by searching a public product catalog website. The copilot currently uses generative answers and returns inconsistent results. The company wants the copilot to use only approved content from a specific internal SharePoint site. What should the maker configure to restrict the copilot's generative answers to that SharePoint site?

Accepted Answer

Add the SharePoint site as a knowledge source in the copilot's generative answers settings.. Generative answers in Microsoft Copilot Studio are grounded in knowledge sources that the maker configures. Adding a specific SharePoint site as a knowledge source and ensuring no public sources are enabled restricts the copilot to approved internal content. This provides accurate, consistent answers based on the organization's authoritative product information rather than unpredictable public web results.

Answer

Publish the copilot to Microsoft Teams and configure a Teams channel data loss prevention policy.

Answer

Disable generative answers entirely and rely on the fallback topic.

Answer

Create a topic with trigger phrases for each product question and hard-code the answers.

Question 3

A support team wants to launch a copilot that can answer questions about their publicly published product documentation. They have no coding resources and need the copilot to use the documentation pages as its knowledge source. What should they do first in Microsoft Copilot Studio?

Accepted Answer

Create a new copilot and add the documentation website as a knowledge source.. Copilot Studio is designed for makers to build conversational copilots and ground them with knowledge sources. For public documentation, adding the website as a knowledge source allows the copilot to retrieve relevant content and generate answers. The other approaches either require development work, do not create a conversational experience, or fail to connect the copilot to the documentation content.

Answer

Publish a Power Apps canvas app that displays the documentation in an iframe.

Answer

Create a custom connector that calls the documentation search API.

Answer

Build a Power Automate cloud flow that emails documentation excerpts to users.

Question 4

A support team wants to create a copilot using Microsoft Copilot Studio that can answer common questions about product warranties. The team has no programming experience. They want to build the copilot quickly using prebuilt templates. What should they use to start?

Accepted Answer

Use the 'Template' gallery in Copilot Studio to select a prebuilt copilot template for customer support.. The template gallery in Copilot Studio offers prebuilt copilots for various domains, including customer support. Selecting a relevant template provides a head start with predefined topics and responses, which can be customized without code. This is the quickest path for non-programmers to build a functional copilot for warranty questions.

Answer

Start from a blank copilot and manually create topics for each question.

Answer

Import a solution from the Power Platform admin center that contains a prebuilt copilot.

Answer

Use the 'Create from description' feature and enter a detailed description of the warranty questions.

Question 5

A support manager at Northwind Traders wants a Copilot Studio copilot to hand off live chats to a human agent when a customer types 'talk to a person'. The organization uses Dynamics 365 Customer Service as its agent workspace. Which TWO actions must be completed to enable this handoff? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

In Dynamics 365 Customer Service, configure an Omnichannel workstream and queue that can receive the escalated conversations.. Enabling a live-agent handoff requires both sides to be configured: the copilot must use the Dynamics 365 Customer Service handoff to push the conversation to the Omnichannel engagement hub, and Customer Service must have a workstream and queue ready to receive and route that conversation. Notifications, channel publishing, and fallback messaging do not move the chat into the agent workspace.

Answer

Add a Fallback topic that tells the customer to call the support phone number when the copilot does not understand.

Answer

Create a Power Automate cloud flow that sends an email to the support manager whenever the phrase 'talk to a person' is detected.

Answer

Publish the copilot to the 'Mobile app' channel and enable the 'Require authentication' option.

Question 6

A financial services company has a copilot built with Microsoft Copilot Studio that must trigger a Power Automate cloud flow when a customer requests a loan quote. The flow returns a quote amount that the copilot then displays to the customer. The company wants to minimize development effort and keep the solution within the Power Platform. What should the company do?

Accepted Answer

Add a Call an action node in the copilot topic and select the existing Power Automate flow.. Copilot Studio provides a native Call an action node that can invoke Power Automate cloud flows directly. This allows the copilot to send inputs, receive outputs such as a quote amount, and continue the conversation without custom code. Using this built-in integration is the simplest and most aligned approach for the financial services company, avoiding unnecessary connectors or components.

Answer

Configure an HTTP request node in the copilot topic that posts to the flow's trigger URL.

Answer

Use a Power Apps component to invoke the flow and embed it in the copilot conversation.

Answer

Create a custom connector that calls the Power Automate flow and register it in the copilot.

Question 7

A travel agency's marketing team creates a copilot in Microsoft Copilot Studio that answers questions about vacation packages. Before releasing it to customers on the agency's website, the team wants to verify that the copilot responds correctly to sample customer messages. What should the team use?

Accepted Answer

The Test copilot pane in Microsoft Copilot Studio. The Test copilot pane provides an interactive chat within Microsoft Copilot Studio where makers send sample utterances and see how the copilot routes and responds. It also shows which topic or knowledge source handled each message, making it the right tool for pre-release validation. Analytics, solution packaging, and auditing serve governance or deployment purposes, not conversational testing.

Answer

The Power Platform admin center's environment analytics page

Answer

The solution export and import wizard

Answer

The Microsoft Dataverse auditing configuration page

Question 8

You are designing a copilot in Microsoft Copilot Studio for an internal help desk. The copilot must greet users, answer common questions from an internal SharePoint site, and let users open a support ticket only when they are signed in. Which TWO configuration steps are required? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

Enable authentication for the copilot so users sign in before accessing restricted capabilities.. The two necessary steps are enabling authentication so only signed-in users can open tickets, and adding the internal SharePoint site as a knowledge source so the copilot can answer common questions from that content. Publishing channels and scheduled flows do not provide authentication gating or knowledge grounding, and disabling generative answers would remove the desired question-answering capability.

Answer

Disable generative answers so the copilot only uses authored topics.

Answer

Publish the copilot to the Microsoft Teams channel only.

Answer

Create a scheduled cloud flow that runs every hour to refresh help desk content.

Question 9

A support team at Fabrikam uses Microsoft Copilot Studio to build a copilot for handling customer inquiries. They want the copilot to respond to the phrase 'What are your business hours?' with a fixed answer, and also recognize variations like 'When are you open?' and 'What time do you close?'. What should they configure in Copilot Studio?

Accepted Answer

Create a topic with trigger phrases and a message node.. The correct approach is to create a topic with multiple trigger phrases that match the variations of the question, and then use a message node to output the fixed answer. This uses Copilot Studio's natural language understanding to trigger the topic regardless of how the user phrases the question, ensuring a consistent response without writing code.

Answer

Configure a fallback topic to handle all unrecognized phrases.

Answer

Add a Power Automate cloud flow that returns the business hours.

Answer

Use the Question node to ask the user for their preferred contact method.

Question 10

A retail company's Copilot Studio copilot must look up a customer's loyalty points from a proprietary REST API and return the balance in chat. The API requires an API key. Which approach should the maker use to integrate this external system with the copilot?

Accepted Answer

Create a Power Automate cloud flow that calls the REST API and invoke the flow from a copilot topic action node.. To call a proprietary REST API that requires an API key, the maker should build a Power Automate cloud flow that performs the call and returns the result, then invoke it from a copilot topic action node. This pattern keeps credentials in the flow's secure connections, supports parameterized lookups, and returns structured values into the conversation, which knowledge sources and message nodes cannot do.

Answer

Paste the API key into a message node in the topic so the copilot can call the API directly.

Answer

Add the API endpoint URL as a public website knowledge source.

Answer

Configure the copilot's authentication to Microsoft Entra ID and rely on single sign-on to the API.

Question 11

A company is building a Microsoft Copilot Studio copilot that must be available to customers on multiple channels. The copilot should be accessible from the company's website and from Facebook Messenger. The company also wants to monitor conversations and improve the copilot over time. Which TWO actions should the maker perform to meet these requirements? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

Publish the copilot to the Demo website and to the Facebook channel.. Publishing a copilot to multiple channels, such as the demo website and Facebook, makes it available to customers on those platforms. The built-in analytics in Copilot Studio provide conversation metrics and topic insights that help makers monitor performance and improve the copilot. Together, these two actions satisfy the requirements for multi-channel availability and ongoing improvement.

Answer

Export the copilot solution and import it into a different Power Platform environment for each channel.

Answer

Create a Power Automate flow that posts each conversation transcript to a Microsoft Teams channel.

Answer

Configure the copilot to use only the Microsoft Teams channel and disable all other channels.

Question 12

A nonprofit's IT coordinator has built a Copilot Studio copilot that answers questions about volunteer policies. The coordinator wants the copilot to look up answers from the organization's existing public website instead of manually authoring every question-and-answer pair. Which Copilot Studio capability should the coordinator use?

Accepted Answer

Generative answers with a public website as a knowledge source.. Generative answers allow a copilot to ground responses in external knowledge sources, and a public website can be added as one such source. This lets the copilot retrieve and summarize existing policy content without manually building question-and-answer topics. Manual topics, custom scraping flows, and entities do not provide built-in website retrieval.

Answer

A Power Automate cloud flow that scrapes the website nightly into a SharePoint list.

Answer

A manual topic with a series of Question nodes for each policy.

Answer

An entity that extracts website URLs from user messages.

Question 13

A company's copilot in Microsoft Copilot Studio answers HR questions from a SharePoint knowledge source. Users report that answers are sometimes wrong or outdated even though the SharePoint pages were recently edited. The copilot uses generative answers. What should you do first to improve answer accuracy?

Accepted Answer

Verify that the SharePoint knowledge source is configured with the correct site and that content has been reindexed or refreshed.. Stale or incorrect generative answers often trace to the knowledge source not reflecting recent changes. Confirming the correct SharePoint site is connected and refreshing or reindexing the content is the appropriate first step. Switching to authored topics, changing authentication, or adding trigger phrases does not address outdated knowledge retrieval.

Answer

Change the copilot's authentication setting to require sign-in for all users.

Answer

Switch the copilot to use only authored topics for all HR questions.

Answer

Increase the number of trigger phrases on each HR topic.

Question 14

A company uses Microsoft Copilot Studio to build a copilot that helps employees submit IT support tickets. The copilot must collect the user's employee ID, the issue description, and the urgency level before creating a ticket in an external system. The company wants to ensure that the copilot asks for each piece of information in a structured way and validates that the employee ID is a number. What should they use in Copilot Studio?

Accepted Answer

Use a Question node for each piece of information and set the entity type for the employee ID to Number.. Question nodes in Copilot Studio are designed to ask the user for information and store it in variables. Each Question node can specify an entity type, such as Number, which enforces validation. By using separate Question nodes for employee ID, issue description, and urgency, the copilot collects data in a structured manner. This approach is no-code and ensures that the employee ID is numeric before proceeding.

Answer

Create a single message node that asks for all information at once and parse the response.

Answer

Use a Power Automate flow to prompt the user for each piece of information.

Answer

Configure an adaptive card that contains input fields for all information.

Question 15

A company is building a customer-facing copilot in Microsoft Copilot Studio. The copilot must escalate unresolved conversations to a live agent in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Service and must gather the customer's email address before escalation. Which TWO Copilot Studio features should the maker configure to meet these requirements? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

Use a handoff node or the transfer-to-agent capability to route the conversation to Dynamics 365 Customer Service.. Meeting the requirements needs two distinct capabilities: a handoff mechanism that routes the conversation to a live agent in Dynamics 365 Customer Service, and a question node that captures and stores the customer's email in a variable. Together they ensure unresolved chats reach an agent with the email already collected. Sentiment analysis, channel publishing, and FAQ knowledge sources do not provide escalation or email capture.

Answer

Create a knowledge source from the company's public FAQ page.

Answer

Enable the copilot's sentiment analysis to detect frustration and auto-close the conversation.

Answer

Publish the copilot to the Microsoft 365 Copilot channel only.
