MS-700 Manage Teams, Channels, Chats, and Apps Practice Test 2 — 15 Questions

Question 1

You need to prevent users from adding custom apps to their teams while still allowing them to use existing Microsoft-provided apps. Which policy should you modify?

Accepted Answer

Teams App Permission Policy.. The Teams App Permission Policy is the correct control because it governs which apps users can install and interact with inside Teams, including whether they can add custom (third-party or line-of-business) apps. By scoping the policy to block custom app uploads/additions while leaving Microsoft-published apps permitted, you satisfy the requirement without disabling the built-in app catalog. This policy is assigned per user or group and evaluated at app-install time.

Answer

Teams Setup Policy.

Org-wide app settings.

Question 2

You need to prevent users from using the 'Upload' button to share files in private chats. What should be your primary focus?

Accepted Answer

Teams Messaging Policy.. To prevent users from using the 'Upload' button to share files in private chats and channel messages, you must modify the Teams Messaging Policy. Within the messaging policy, you can set the 'Allow file sharing' toggle to off. This directly removes or disables the file upload capability within chats for the assigned users.

Question 3

Which THREE conditions must be met for a user to be able to create a new team in the Microsoft Teams client?

Accepted Answer

The user must have an Exchange Online license.. To create a team in Microsoft Teams, users must not be restricted from creating Microsoft 365 groups (often managed via Microsoft Entra ID/Entra ID settings), they must have a valid Exchange Online license (since every team is backed by an Exchange mailbox and calendar), and the 'Create teams' setting must be allowed in their Teams client policy. Note: Option A mentions a fictitious security group name.

Answer

The user must be a member of the 'Teams Group Creators' security group.

Answer

The user must be a Global Administrator.

Answer

The user must have a SharePoint site owner role.

Question 4

Your company uses Microsoft Teams and needs to restrict users from deleting their own chat messages. Which policy can enforce this restriction?

Accepted Answer

Teams Messaging Policy.. The Teams Messaging Policy controls chat and channel messaging features, including whether users can edit or delete sent messages. The setting 'Owners can delete sent messages' and 'Users can delete sent messages' (or 'Delete sent messages') resides in the Messaging Policy, so restricting message deletion requires modifying this policy. Assigning the policy to the affected users enforces the restriction.

Answer

Teams Update Policy.

Answer

Teams App Permission Policy.

Answer

Teams Meeting Policy.

Question 5

Refer to the exhibit. What is the effect of this policy applied to a user?

Accepted Answer

Users cannot record meetings or chat during meetings.. The stem references an exhibit that is not provided. Without the JSON configuration, it is impossible to confirm if the policy specifically disables both recording and chat. Additionally, the explanation mentions 'disabling cloud recording, transcription, and meeting chat', but the provided options only address recording and chat.

Answer

Users can record meetings but not use transcription.

Answer

Users can use chat but cannot record audio.

Answer

The policy only affects the user's ability to join meetings.

Question 6

Which setting should you change if you want to prevent users from adding external participants to a meeting?

Accepted Answer

Update the meeting policy.. While the meeting policy is the correct location, the specific setting to prevent users from adding external participants (specifically anonymous users or guests) is found within the 'Meeting policy' under 'Participants & guests'. The explanation should clarify that this is a granular policy setting rather than a global tenant-wide configuration.

Answer

Modify the Teams Org-wide settings.

Answer

Change the App Permission policy.

Answer

Configure the External Access policy.

Question 7

You want to ensure that only specific apps are pinned to the user's app bar. Which policy type do you configure?

Accepted Answer

Teams setup policy.. The explanation correctly identifies 'App setup policies' as the mechanism, but Option B is labeled 'Teams setup policy'. While these are often referred to interchangeably in casual conversation, the official Microsoft documentation and the Microsoft 365 admin center refer to this as 'App setup policy'.

Answer

App permission policy.

Answer

Teams policy.

Answer

Messaging policy.

Question 8

Refer to the exhibit. You applied 'RestrictedPolicy' to a user. What will be the result?

Accepted Answer

Users cannot send Giphy, memes, or stickers.. In Microsoft Teams messaging policies, the 'Giphy content rating' and related content settings control what users can insert. When a policy is configured to block Giphy, memes, and stickers (for example, by setting 'Giphy content rating' to 'Strict' and disabling memes/stickers), users subject to that policy cannot send any of those content types. The exhibit (RestrictedPolicy) applies these restrictions to the assigned user, so all three are blocked.

Answer

Users can still use Giphy but not memes or stickers.

Answer

Users can send stickers if they are from a third-party app.

Answer

The policy applies only to private chats, not channels.

Question 9

You are managing a large project team and need to restrict external collaboration. Which TWO actions should you perform to ensure that only invited guests can access the team, and that they cannot create private channels?

Accepted Answer

Turn off 'Allow guest access' in the Teams org-wide settings.. To restrict guest access to only invited guests, the 'Guest access' setting must be configured at the organization level in the Teams admin center (Org-wide settings > Guest access). There is no 'Only invited guests' toggle within individual Team settings. The correct approach to restrict guest access is via the Org-wide Guest access settings, and the correct approach to restrict private channel creation for guests is via the Teams policy assigned to guests.

Answer

Update the Guest meeting policy to restrict screen sharing.

Answer

Set 'Guest access' to 'Only invited guests' in the specific Team settings.

Answer

Remove the 'External Access' flag from the Azure AD tenant properties.

Question 10

You are a Teams administrator for Contoso. The security team requires that users cannot add external participants from a consumer email domain to existing group chats. You need to configure the appropriate Teams messaging policy setting. What should you do?

Accepted Answer

Set 'External users can participate in group chats' to 'Off' in the Teams messaging policy.. The Teams messaging policy contains a specific control for external users participating in group chats. Turning this setting Off prevents users from adding external participants, including consumer email accounts, to group chats while leaving other external communication channels intact. This is the targeted control the security team needs to satisfy its requirement without over-restricting collaboration.

Answer

Set the 'External chat participants' setting to 'Blocked' in the Teams messaging policy.

Answer

Set 'Role-based chat permissions' to 'Restricted' in the Teams messaging policy.

Answer

Set the 'External access' setting to 'Off' in the Teams messaging policy.

Question 11

You are a Teams administrator. Your organization has a team named 'Sales' with a channel 'Deals'. You need to ensure that only members of the 'Sales' team can post messages in the 'Deals' channel. What should you do?

Accepted Answer

Enable channel moderation and set 'Team members can post messages'.. Channel moderation in Teams allows you to control who can post in a channel. By enabling moderation and selecting 'Team members can post messages', you ensure that all members of the parent team can post, while non-members cannot. This satisfies the requirement without needing to designate individual moderators.

Answer

Enable channel moderation and add the 'Sales' team as a moderator.

Answer

Enable channel moderation and add specific members as moderators.

Answer

Enable channel moderation and set 'Only moderators can post messages'.

Question 12

You are a Teams administrator for a consulting firm. A project manager reports that members of the 'Client X' team are unable to add the 'Trello' app to a channel. You verify that the app is allowed in the org-wide app permission policy. You need to ensure that team members can add Trello to the 'Client X' team. What should you do?

Accepted Answer

Assign a custom app permission policy to the team that includes Trello.. When a custom app permission policy is assigned to a team, it overrides the org-wide policy. Even if Trello is allowed org-wide, the team-specific policy may block it. Assigning a policy that includes Trello to the team resolves the issue. The other options do not address the team-level policy conflict.

Answer

Modify the org-wide app permission policy to allow Trello.

Answer

Enable the 'Allow external apps' setting in the Teams admin center.

Answer

Instruct the project manager to upload a custom app package for Trello.

Question 13

You are a Teams administrator at a company where a team owner reports that members can add any app from the Teams app store, including apps that have not been reviewed by your security team. You need to ensure that only apps approved by your organization can be added to any team, while still allowing users to use built-in Teams features. What should you do?

Accepted Answer

In Teams admin center, set the global app permission policy to block all apps and then allow only specific apps.. To restrict app usage to only approved apps, you must use app permission policies. Blocking all apps in the global policy and then allowing specific approved apps ensures that no unapproved apps can be added. This approach gives you granular control while preserving built-in Teams functionality, which is not governed by app permission policies.

Answer

In Teams admin center, create a new app permission policy that blocks third-party apps and assign it to all users.

Answer

In Teams admin center, configure the org-wide app settings to disable sideloading of apps.

Answer

In Teams admin center, set up an app setup policy that pins only approved apps to the app bar.

Question 14

You are a Teams administrator for Fabrikam. The security team wants to prevent users from using the Teams free version to collaborate with external users. You need to ensure that only users with corporate credentials can use Teams, and that the free version is blocked. What should you configure?

Accepted Answer

In the Microsoft 365 admin center, disable the 'Teams free' toggle under Org settings > Teams.. The free version of Microsoft Teams is a separate service that users can join with a corporate email address. To block its use, administrators must disable the 'Teams free' toggle in the Microsoft 365 admin center under Org settings > Teams. This action prevents users from using the free version with their work email, ensuring that all collaboration occurs within the licensed Teams environment.

Answer

In the Teams admin center, create an app permission policy that blocks the Teams free app.

Answer

In the Microsoft 365 admin center, enable the 'Teams free' toggle under Org settings > Teams.

Answer

In the Teams admin center, modify the external access configuration to block all external domains.

Question 15

You are the Teams administrator for a company that uses Microsoft 365. The security team requires that all new teams created by users in the Finance department be private (not public) and that only a designated group of users can create them. You have already created a team template and assigned it to the Finance department via a Teams app permission policy. However, users report they can still create public teams. What should you do to enforce the requirement?

Accepted Answer

Use a Teams team template with the 'Private' visibility and assign it to the Finance department via a Teams app setup policy.. To enforce that all new teams created by Finance users are private, you must use a team template with private visibility and assign it via an app setup policy. This ensures users can only create teams based on that template, overriding the default public visibility. Other policies do not control team creation visibility.

Answer

Modify the global Teams meeting policy to restrict public team creation.

Answer

Assign a Teams app permission policy that blocks the 'Create team' app and allows only the template-based creation.

Answer

Enable sensitivity labels for teams and configure a label that restricts external sharing.
