CCNA lab 3
Inter-VLAN routing (router-on-a-stick)
Route between VLAN 10 and VLAN 20 with 802.1Q subinterfaces on one router port and a trunk to the switch.
About 20 minutes 4 devices 6 tasksIntermediate
Scenario
SW1 already has VLAN 10 (SALES) on Fa0/1 and VLAN 20 (HR) on Fa0/2, and the PCs use 192.168.10.1 and 192.168.20.1 as their gateways. Those gateways do not exist yet. R1 is cabled to SW1 Gi0/1 with a single link. Configure that link as a trunk and give R1 one subinterface per VLAN so the two departments can reach each other.
Your tasks
- Make SW1 Gi0/1 (towards R1) a trunk.
- Bring up R1 GigabitEthernet0/0/0.
- Create R1 Gi0/0/0.10 for VLAN 10 with address 192.168.10.1/24.
- Create R1 Gi0/0/0.20 for VLAN 20 with address 192.168.20.1/24.
- PC1 can ping its default gateway 192.168.10.1.
- PC1 (VLAN 10) can ping PC2 (VLAN 20).
The lab checks the result, not the exact commands. For example, a ping task passes only when the ping really succeeds through the network you built.
