MB-910 Describe Dynamics 365 Customer Insights Practice Test 14 — 15 Questions

Question 1

Which THREE are key features of Dynamics 365 Customer Insights?

Accepted Answer

Dynamic segmentation. Dynamic segmentation (A) is a core Customer Insights capability that lets you build customer segments using the segment builder with rules based on unified profiles, measures, and AI predictions, and it refreshes automatically as data changes. Data unification and deduplication (B) is central to Customer Insights, which ingests data from multiple sources, performs identity resolution via match and merge rules to create a single unified customer profile, and removes duplicates. AI-driven predictions (C) such as churn risk, product recommendations, and customer lifetime value are built-in Customer Insights features that train models on unified data and expose scores for use in segments and downstream processes. Marketing email automation (D) belongs to Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys (or Marketing), not the core Customer Insights data platform, and data ingestion from on-premises databases (E) is only one possible input method via connectors rather than a defining key feature of the product.

Answer

Marketing email automation

Answer

Data ingestion from on-premises databases

Question 2

A company is using Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and wants to enrich customer profiles with external data. Which TWO methods can they use?

Accepted Answer

Use the built-in enrichment from Microsoft (e.g., demographic data). Dynamics 365 Customer Insights includes built-in enrichment services that automatically append demographic, geographic, and firmographic data from Microsoft's own data providers (e.g., Microsoft Graph, Experian) to customer profiles. This is a native, no-code feature within the enrichment wizard that requires no external connectors or manual data handling.

Answer

Use Power Automate to pull data from LinkedIn

Answer

Connect to Facebook to import profile data

Answer

Export profiles to Excel and manually update

Question 3

A retail company uses Dynamics 365 Customer Insights to unify customer data from multiple sources. They want to ensure that customer profiles are updated in near real-time when a purchase is made in their POS system. Which feature should they configure?

Accepted Answer

Data Ingestion API. The Data Ingestion API allows real-time or near real-time data ingestion into Dynamics 365 Customer Insights. When a purchase occurs in the POS system, the API can be called immediately to push that transaction data, triggering an update to the unified customer profile without waiting for a scheduled batch import.

Answer

Calculated measures

Answer

Data sources connector

Answer

Customer segments

Question 4

A marketing team wants to use Dynamics 365 Customer Insights to predict which customers are likely to churn. They have historical data on customer interactions and purchases. What should they create first?

Accepted Answer

A customer data unification process. Before any predictive analysis can be performed, the customer data must be unified into a single, coherent profile. In Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, the customer data unification process (data ingestion, mapping, matching, and merging) creates a unified customer entity. Without this unified view, predictive models cannot accurately identify churn patterns because they would be operating on fragmented or duplicated data.

Answer

A segment

Answer

A predictive model

Answer

An enrichment

Question 5

A company uses Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and wants to ensure that customer consent preferences from their email marketing system are reflected in customer profiles. The consent data includes a field 'ConsentGiven' (boolean). Which step is essential during data unification?

Accepted Answer

Map the 'ConsentGiven' field to the unified customer entity. Mapping the 'ConsentGiven' field to the unified customer entity is essential because data unification in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights involves defining how source fields are projected into the target unified schema. Without this mapping, the consent preference from the email marketing system would not be included in the final unified customer profile, even if the data source is added and deduplication is configured.

Answer

Add the email marketing system as a data source

Answer

Configure deduplication rules

Answer

Create a segment based on consent

Question 6

A company wants to use Dynamics 365 Customer Insights to generate AI-driven predictions about customer lifetime value. They have transactional data and customer demographics. Which feature should they use?

Accepted Answer

Predictive models. Predictive models in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights are specifically designed to generate AI-driven predictions, such as customer lifetime value (CLV), by analyzing historical transactional data and customer demographics. This feature uses machine learning algorithms to forecast future behavior, making it the correct choice for this scenario.

Answer

Segments

Answer

Enrichment

Answer

Measures

Question 7

A company uses Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and wants to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Which THREE actions should they take?

Accepted Answer

Audit data access and usage. Auditing data access and usage (Option B) is a core compliance requirement because it enables organizations to track who accessed customer data, when, and for what purpose. Dynamics 365 Customer Insights provides built-in auditing capabilities that log all data interactions, which is essential for demonstrating compliance with regulations like GDPR and CCPA.

Answer

Enable encryption at rest

Answer

Deploy Copilot for Customer Insights

Question 8

You are a data analyst for a financial services company that uses Dynamics 365 Customer Insights. The company has unified customer profiles and wants to use AI to predict which customers are likely to respond to a new credit card offer. They have historical data on previous offers, customer demographics, and transaction history. You have been asked to create a predictive model. After configuring the model, you notice that the model's accuracy is very low. You suspect that the data used for training is not representative. What is the most likely cause?

Accepted Answer

The historical data has a low response rate, creating class imbalance.. Class imbalance occurs when the number of instances in one class (e.g., non-responders) greatly outnumbers the other (responders). With a low response rate, the model may be biased toward the majority class, resulting in low accuracy for predicting the minority class. This is a common cause of poor model performance in predictive analytics.

Answer

The data unification process merged records incorrectly.

Answer

The training data includes data from too many time periods.

Answer

The data source connection to the transactional system is failing.

Question 9

You are a consultant for a small e-commerce company that is new to Dynamics 365 Customer Insights. They have data in a CSV file containing customer names, email addresses, and purchase amounts. They want to create a segment of customers who have spent more than $500 in total. What is the first step they should take?

Accepted Answer

Upload the CSV file as a data source.. Before any segmentation or data transformation can occur, the CSV data must first be ingested into Dynamics 365 Customer Insights. Uploading the CSV file as a data source is the foundational step because the system requires raw data to be available before it can be unified, enriched, or used to create segments. Without this initial import, all subsequent operations (unification, segmentation, enrichment) would have no data to act upon.

Answer

Define data unification rules.

Answer

Create a segment based on total spend.

Answer

Enrich profiles with demographic data.

Question 10

You are a marketing manager for a retail company that uses Dynamics 365 Customer Insights. You want to create a segment of customers who have not made a purchase in the last 90 days and who have a high predicted churn score. You have already set up a predictive churn model. However, when you try to create the segment using the churn score, you notice that the churn score field is not available in the segment builder. What is the most likely reason?

Accepted Answer

The churn model has not been published.. The churn score field is generated by the predictive churn model and only becomes available in the segment builder after the model has been published. Until the model is published, the churn score is not written to the customer entity, so the field does not appear as a selectable attribute. Publishing the model finalizes the scores and makes them available for segmentation.

Answer

The churn model is still training.

Answer

The churn model was created from a different data source.

Answer

The customer data has not been unified.

Question 11

You are a business analyst for a nonprofit organization that uses Dynamics 365 Customer Insights. They have donor data from a fundraising system and event attendance data from a separate system. They want to create a single view of each donor. After importing both data sources, you run the data unification process. However, you notice that some donors who appear in both systems are being created as separate profiles instead of being merged. What is the most likely cause?

Accepted Answer

The deduplication rules are not configured to match on common fields like email.. The data unification process in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights relies on deduplication rules to identify and merge matching profiles. If these rules are not configured to match on common fields such as email address, the system will treat records from different sources as separate profiles, even if they represent the same donor. Without proper matching conditions, the unification step cannot link the records, resulting in duplicate profiles.

Answer

The profiles were enriched with external data.

Answer

The data sources were not imported correctly.

Answer

The segment was created before unification.

Question 12

A global enterprise wants to use Dynamics 365 Customer Insights to create a 360-degree customer view. They have data from Dynamics 365 Sales, Dynamics 365 Customer Service, and external loyalty systems. They also need to comply with GDPR and CCPA. Which THREE capabilities should they prioritize?

Accepted Answer

Use AI to create predictive segments and measure customer lifetime value. Option D is correct because Customer Insights unifies data through connectors and ingestion pipelines that pull from Dynamics 365 (Sales, Customer Service), external loyalty systems, and third-party sources to build the unified customer profile that underpins a 360-degree view. Option A is correct because Customer Insights uses AI and machine learning to generate predictive segments (such as churn or high-value predictions) and to calculate measures like customer lifetime value, which are core to deriving insight from the unified profiles. Option E is correct because Customer Insights provides built-in privacy and compliance capabilities aligned with GDPR and CCPA, including consent management, data subject requests, and data retention controls, which the scenario explicitly requires. Option B is not part of Customer Insights' capabilities; real-time chat is a Customer Service (Omnichannel) feature, not a data unification/insights function. Option C is also out of scope; LinkedIn lead generation automation belongs to Dynamics 365 Sales or marketing tools, not to Customer Insights' data unification and analytics purpose.

Answer

Provide real-time chat support to customers

Answer

Automate LinkedIn lead generation campaigns

Question 13

You are a Dynamics 365 administrator for a mid-sized e-commerce company. The marketing team wants to use Dynamics 365 Customer Insights to create a unified customer profile that includes browsing history, purchase history, and customer support interactions. They also want to use this unified data to send personalized offers via email. You have access to Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and Dynamics 365 Marketing. What should you do first?

Accepted Answer

Set up data ingestion from browsing history, purchase history, and support interactions into Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, then unify the data into a single customer profile.. The first step is to ingest the disparate data sources (browsing history, purchase history, and support interactions) into Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and then unify them into a single customer profile. This unified profile is the foundation for all downstream activities, such as segmentation and personalized email campaigns. Without this data unification, you cannot accurately target or personalize offers in Dynamics 365 Marketing.

Answer

Configure Dynamics 365 Customer Insights to send personalized emails directly to customers using the unified customer profile.

Answer

Import all data directly into Dynamics 365 Marketing and use its native customer profile feature to unify the data.

Answer

Create a segment in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights based on purchase history, then export the segment to Dynamics 365 Marketing to send offers.

Question 14

A marketing manager at an e-commerce company wants to use Dynamics 365 Customer Insights to create a segment of customers who have made at least one purchase in the last 30 days AND have opened at least one marketing email in the same period. The manager is configuring the segment in Customer Insights - Data. Which type of segment rule should they use to combine these conditions?

Accepted Answer

Create a single segment with two conditions joined by the AND operator.. Segment rules in Customer Insights - Data allow multiple conditions to be combined with logical operators such as AND and OR. To find customers who both purchased recently and opened an email, the AND operator is required. This ensures that only customers meeting both criteria are included, which is exactly what the marketing manager needs for a targeted campaign.

Answer

Use a measure to calculate a score based on purchases and email opens, then filter customers with a score above a threshold.

Answer

Create two separate segments and then use the intersection feature to combine them.

Answer

Use a union of two separate segments: one for recent purchases and one for recent email opens.

Question 15

A customer service manager at a mid-sized bank wants agents to see a unified customer profile — including recent loan inquiries, past support tickets, and loyalty tier — directly inside the agent desktop without switching applications. The bank already uses Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Data to unify customer records. Which capability should the manager use to surface those unified profiles inside the agent experience?

Accepted Answer

Customer card powered by Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Data. The customer card is designed to bring unified customer profiles from Customer Insights - Data into the agent desktop in Dynamics 365 apps, giving agents a 360-degree view without leaving their application. It surfaces unified attributes and measures such as loan inquiries, support history, and loyalty tier, which matches the bank's requirement to avoid switching systems.
