Question 2

Refer to the exhibit. An administrator has enabled Adaptive Transport. A network trace shows ICA traffic flowing over UDP port 1494. However, some users report that they cannot connect when they are outside the corporate network. What is the most likely cause of this behavior?

Accepted Answer

The Citrix Gateway is not configured to support DTLS.. Adaptive Transport (EDT) uses UDP for its high-performance transport. While internal traffic can use port 1494 or 2598, external traffic through a Citrix Gateway must be able to reach the Gateway on UDP port 443. If the firewall or Gateway is not configured for DTLS, the connection will fail for external users.

Answer

The VDA does not have the 'HDX Adaptive Transport' policy set to 'Diagnostic'.

Answer

Standard ICA traffic must always use TCP port 1494 for external connections.

Answer

The Session Reliability port (2598) is blocked on the internal firewall.

Question 3

An administrator wants to implement Browser Content Redirection (BCR) to improve the user experience for web-based video training. Which TWO requirements must be met for BCR to function correctly? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

The Citrix Workspace app must be installed with the Browser Content Redirection component.. Browser Content Redirection offloads the rendering of web content from the VDA to the client device. This significantly reduces VDA resource consumption and provides a smoother video experience. It requires specific configurations on both the VDA and the client to ensure the browser can hand off the URL to the local Workspace app.

Question 10

Users connecting through Citrix Gateway from a branch office complain that when they drag a window across the desktop, the window leaves a trail of stale pixels and the graphics appear to lag behind the mouse. The administrator confirms that the VDAs are running the current VDA software and that the network has adequate bandwidth but relatively high round-trip latency. Which Citrix policy setting should the administrator configure to improve the user experience in this scenario?

Accepted Answer

Enable the 'Use video codec for compression' policy and set it to 'For actively changing regions'.. H.264 hardware-accelerated encoding is dramatically more efficient than legacy bitmap codecs for screen regions that are actively changing, such as a window being dragged. By applying the video codec only to actively changing regions, the administrator reduces the bandwidth and processing required for those updates while leaving static areas in the more efficient lossless mode. This directly addresses the stale-pixel trail and perceived mouse lag on a high-latency link.
