SFC path setup starts with the classifier identifying traffic to be steered, then the classifier adds an NSH encapsulation to the packet. The first SFF receives the packet and forwards it to the first SF. After processing, the SF returns the packet to the SFF, which then forwards it to the next SFF in the chain. This repeats until the packet reaches the last SFF, which removes the NSH and forwards the packet.
