UiPath-ADAv1 Practice Test 21 — 15 Questions

Question 1

What is the primary purpose of the 'Orchestrator Folder' feature in modern UiPath deployments?

Accepted Answer

To enable granular access control and resource isolation.. Folders provide a mechanism to group processes, assets, and queues, allowing for granular permission management and isolation. This is essential for large enterprises where different departments or projects share the same Orchestrator instance. By defining folders, administrators can ensure that users only see and interact with the resources they are authorized to manage or execute.

Answer

To store local project files and logs for developers.

Answer

To allow robots to run multiple processes simultaneously.

Answer

To provide automatic version control for automation projects.

Question 2

When inspecting the 'Variables' panel, you notice that a variable used in your workflow is greyed out. What does this indicate?

Accepted Answer

The variable is not referenced in the currently selected scope.. In UiPath Studio, a greyed-out variable in the Variables panel usually indicates that the variable is defined but currently not in use or not accessible within the specific sequence currently selected in the Designer panel. This visual cue helps developers identify unused variables that should be cleaned up, or it signals that they are looking at the wrong scope level for their specific logic, which is crucial for project maintenance.

Answer

The variable is a read-only constant.

Answer

The variable data type is incompatible with the activity.

Answer

The variable is reserved by the system and cannot be used.

Question 3

A developer automates extraction of purchase order numbers from supplier PDFs. The Read PDF Text activity returns a long string containing the entire document. The developer needs only the value that immediately follows the label "PO Number:" on the same line. Which approach reliably isolates that value for downstream processing?

Accepted Answer

Use a regular expression with the Matches activity to capture the text after "PO Number:" and read the first match group.. The label "PO Number:" provides a stable anchor within the otherwise variable document text. A regular expression can match that literal and capture the characters that follow on the same line, and the Matches activity exposes the captured group directly. This yields only the desired value, tolerates different placements of the label, and avoids brittle position-based slicing.

Answer

Split the extracted string on the newline character and assign the last element to a variable.

Answer

Use the Contains method to confirm the label exists, then store the entire extracted string in the output variable.

Answer

Replace all newline characters with spaces and then take the first fifty characters of the string.

Question 4

Which THREE items are mandatory when creating a new variable in the Variables panel?

Accepted Answer

Name. Every variable in UiPath Studio acts as a container for data. To function correctly, the environment must know the name to reference it, the data type to allocate memory and define available methods, and the scope to manage its lifecycle. Missing any of these three elements would prevent the variable from being successfully instantiated and used within the automation logic, causing compilation errors during project execution.

Answer

Default Value

Answer

Description

Question 5

When publishing a library in UiPath Studio, what is the purpose of the 'Publish to' field?

Accepted Answer

To define the destination NuGet feed for the package.. The 'Publish to' field determines the destination feed for the NuGet package. It allows developers to specify whether to push the library to the Orchestrator tenant feed, a custom NuGet server, or a local directory. Correctly selecting this destination ensures that the appropriate version of the library is available to the intended consumers, whether they are other developers in Studio or robots executing processes in production environments.

Answer

To select the specific robot that will execute the library.

Answer

To set the version number of the library project.

Answer

To configure the security access levels for the Git repository.

Question 6

What is the primary function of the 'Triggers' feature in Orchestrator?

Accepted Answer

To define the criteria for starting a job automatically.. Triggers enable the automated scheduling and initiation of jobs based on specific time-based events or queue item availability. This capability is vital for maximizing robot utilization and ensuring that business processes execute according to predefined service-level agreements. By automating the startup phase of a process, organizations can remove manual intervention, reduce lead times, and ensure consistent execution cycles for high-volume automated tasks across the entire enterprise infrastructure.

Answer

To pause a running job until a human operator clicks 'Resume'.

Answer

To compile automation projects into executable packages.

Answer

To manage the hardware specifications of the robots.

Question 7

You need to extract data from a PDF where the fields are located at different positions on every page. What is the most effective automation strategy?

Accepted Answer

Use the Anchor Base activity.. When field positions are dynamic, coordinate-based extraction is impossible. Using anchors or the Document Understanding framework is necessary. Anchors allow the robot to find a static label (e.g., 'Invoice Date:') and extract the associated value relative to that label, regardless of its position on the page. This approach provides the flexibility needed to handle variable document layouts without needing to update coordinates every time the document format changes.

Answer

Use fixed coordinate extraction.

Answer

Use the Read PDF Text activity.

Answer

Manually update the selectors.

Question 8

Which THREE properties are commonly used and configured in a 'For Each' activity to manage the iteration process? (Select THREE)

Accepted Answer

Values. The For Each activity requires specific configurations to function correctly. The 'Values' property defines the collection to iterate over, 'TypeArgument' specifies the data type of the items, and 'Index' (or 'CurrentIndex' in newer versions) provides a way to track the current position in the loop. Mastering these properties allows developers to accurately process data collections and maintain control over the loop's state.

Answer

Timeout

Answer

ContinueOnError

Question 9

An automation project needs to retrieve secure credentials from a REST API endpoint that requires OAuth 2.0 authorization. Which activity should be utilized first to establish the connection before making subsequent data requests?

Accepted Answer

HTTP Request. To interact with OAuth 2.0 secured APIs, the automation must first obtain an access token by authenticating with the identity provider. The HTTP Request activity is used to POST client credentials or grant codes to the token endpoint. Understanding this sequence is vital for API automation, as failing to handle the authentication handshake results in 401 Unauthorized errors, preventing any data exchange with protected resources during the workflow execution.

Answer

Invoke Workflow File

Answer

Get Asset

Answer

Deserialize JSON

Question 10

Refer to the exhibit. You have two variables named 'RetryCount' at different scopes. When the 'Main_Workflow' sequence accesses 'RetryCount', which value is retrieved?

Accepted Answer

The value from the 'Main_Workflow' scope.. UiPath resolves variable references based on the closest scope. If a variable name exists at both a local (child) scope and a global (parent) scope, the local definition takes precedence within the child sequence. This shadowing allows for flexible design, where local sequences can override global configurations, but it requires careful naming to ensure the correct data is always being manipulated during the workflow's execution.

Answer

The value from the 'Process_Initialization' scope.

Answer

The system throws a 'Duplicate Variable' exception.

Answer

The value is null or empty.

Question 11

Which component of the UiPath Test Suite allows for the execution of automated test cases on a schedule without manual intervention?

Accepted Answer

UiPath Orchestrator. Orchestrator is the centralized management hub for UiPath robots, including those dedicated to testing. By creating a testing project in Orchestrator, developers can trigger test sets on a schedule or through CI/CD pipeline webhooks. This automated orchestration is essential for continuous testing, as it ensures that regression testing occurs automatically whenever code is updated, providing immediate feedback on whether new changes have negatively impacted the existing business process logic.

Answer

UiPath Studio

Answer

UiPath Assistant

Answer

UiPath Data Service

Question 12

Which TWO of the following are valid ways to improve the accuracy of OCR in UiPath?

Accepted Answer

Use a character whitelist.. Improving OCR accuracy involves both preprocessing the image and choosing the right engine settings. Whitelisting characters ensures the engine only looks for relevant patterns, reducing errors. Deskewing corrects the alignment of the document, which is critical for consistent character recognition. These techniques are standard practice for developers to ensure reliable data extraction from noisy or poorly scanned document sources in real-world automation scenarios.

Answer

Increase the timeout value.

Answer

Change the file format to PNG.

Answer

Increase the number of activities.

Question 13

Which TWO of the following are true regarding the use of 'Get Outlook Mail Messages' in a production environment?

Accepted Answer

The 'OnlyUnreadMessages' property should be used to prevent duplicate processing.. Production email automation requires careful handling of email volumes and API limits. By default, the activity retrieves the top 30 messages, which can be insufficient or cause performance issues if not tuned. Additionally, managing the 'OnlyUnreadMessages' property is critical for ensuring that emails are not processed multiple times, which is a common source of duplication errors in automated customer service or finance workflows.

Answer

It is best practice to leave the 'Top' property empty to retrieve all emails.

Answer

The activity works independently of the Outlook application being open.

Answer

You must use an 'SMTP' activity to retrieve emails from the server.

Question 14

You need to retrieve the name of a file without its extension from a full path string. Which method should you use?

Accepted Answer

Use 'Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension'.. Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension is the built-in, platform-independent method for exactly this requirement. It correctly handles various OS-specific directory separators and edge cases in file naming. Using this method is much safer than manually parsing the string with 'LastIndexOf', as it avoids common pitfalls like unexpected dots in the path or missing extensions, ensuring the automation remains robust and predictable across different file naming conventions and operating systems.

Answer

Use 'Split' on the dot character.

Answer

Use 'Substring' with 'LastIndexOf'.

Answer

Use the 'Get File Name' activity and then remove the last 4 chars.

Question 15

Which TWO actions are necessary when using the 'Use Excel File' and 'Read Range' activities within an Excel Process Scope to ensure the file is properly closed after the process completes?

Accepted Answer

Ensure all Excel activities are nested within the Excel Process Scope block.. The Excel Process Scope handles the lifecycle of the Excel application process. By default, it closes the workbook and the associated Excel instance after the scope terminates, provided no other tasks are running. Ensuring that all activities are contained within the block and that the 'Save Changes' property is correctly configured prevents zombie Excel processes from lingering in the background, which could lead to memory leaks or file locks.

Answer

Manually add a Kill Process activity for Excel at the end of the scope.

Answer

Use a Close Workbook activity at the end of every Excel scope iteration.

Answer

Set the Visible property to True to monitor the file closing process.
