C_ARSUM Quick Quiz — 10 Questions

Question 1

Refer to the exhibit. A supplier attempts to complete their registration, but the workflow stalls. Based on the JSON policy snippet, why is the process not completing automatically?

Accepted Answer

The Auto_Approve flag is set to false. The JSON policy clearly defines 'Auto_Approve' as 'false' and mandates a 'Manager_Approval_Required' workflow. This configuration explicitly disables automated completion, requiring human intervention. In Ariba, this is a standard configuration pattern to enforce internal oversight and risk control during the registration phase, ensuring that only verified suppliers with approved credentials enter the procurement ecosystem, thus preventing unauthorized or high-risk vendors from being added to the system.

Answer

The registration policy is disabled

Answer

The system is missing a required field

Answer

The workflow is circular and has timed out

Question 2

Which of the following best describes the 'Preferred Supplier' status in SAP Ariba?

Accepted Answer

A designation for high-performing, approved vendors. Preferred Supplier status is a strategic designation used to guide internal users toward vendors that have been vetted for quality, performance, or strategic fit. By highlighting these suppliers in search results, the organization drives spend toward its most reliable partners, maximizing the value of its procurement contracts. This status is highly visible during the procurement process, helping to ensure that employees make purchasing decisions that align with corporate objectives and sustainability goals.

Answer

A status that grants the supplier exclusive rights

Answer

A mandatory requirement for all new suppliers

Answer

Question 3

What is the primary benefit of using a 'Preferred' supplier status in SAP Ariba?

Accepted Answer

To prioritize these suppliers during the procurement process.. The 'Preferred' supplier status signals to the entire organization which vendors are strategically chosen for specific commodities or regions. This status is highly visible during the requisitioning process, encouraging users to select preferred suppliers over non-preferred ones. This drives compliance with negotiated contracts, achieves better pricing, and ensures that the company leverages its consolidated spend volume to gain favorable terms, while also simplifying the purchasing experience for employees.

Answer

To increase the number of suppliers in the database.

Answer

To hide all other suppliers from the user interface.

Answer

To automatically grant these suppliers access to all internal systems.

Question 4

Why should a project manager use the 'Supplier Request' project instead of a direct 'Qualification' project for a new supplier?

Accepted Answer

To collect preliminary data for vetting before qualification.. The Supplier Request project serves as a gatekeeper, collecting essential preliminary information to determine if a supplier should even be considered for business. By decoupling the request from the qualification process, you reduce administrative burden and prevent the cluttering of the qualification system with non-viable suppliers. This staged approach is vital for maintaining a high-quality supplier database that complies with organizational procurement policies and internal risk management standards.

Answer

To bypass internal approval workflows.

Answer

To automatically sync the supplier to the ERP system.

Answer

To skip commodity code assignment.

Question 5

What is the primary purpose of the 'Supplier Performance Management' (SPM) project type?

Accepted Answer

To evaluate and score supplier performance using surveys and KPIs.. Supplier Performance Management is designed to measure, track, and analyze how suppliers are performing against key performance indicators (KPIs). By formalizing the evaluation process through surveys and scorecards, organizations can drive continuous improvement in their supply base. This data is critical for strategic decision-making, such as identifying top-performing vendors for future contracts or flagging those that need corrective action plans to meet quality or service level agreements.

Answer

To automate the negotiation process of long-term sourcing contracts.

Answer

To manage the lifecycle of supplier registration and qualification surveys.

Answer

To process payments and reconcile invoices for approved suppliers.

Question 6

If a procurement manager wants to review supplier performance over the past two years, which tool should they prioritize?

Accepted Answer

Supplier Performance Reporting. Reporting and analytics provide the historical visibility required for long-term performance assessment. By leveraging pre-built or custom reports, managers can analyze historical SPM data, identifying trends in quality, delivery, and service. This analytical capability is critical for strategic decision-making, allowing the organization to determine whether to continue, expand, or terminate a supplier relationship based on documented long-term performance trends rather than just current snapshots of data.

Question 7

A procurement manager wants to ensure that suppliers must update their registration data every 12 months. Which feature in SAP Ariba Supplier Management handles this requirement?

This targeted approach minimizes the burden on suppliers while allowing the procurement organization to quickly collect data on new compliance requirements, diversity goals, or specific regional regulations. This agility is essential in a dynamic business environment where requirements frequently change, allowing organizations to maintain compliance and data accuracy without restarting the entire onboarding process.
