C_ARSUM Ariba Supplier Management Practice Test 4 — 15 Questions

Question 1

A procurement manager needs to ensure that all suppliers in a specific region undergo a mandatory environmental compliance survey. Which Ariba Supplier Management feature should be configured to automate this requirement based on supplier registration attributes?

Choose an answer to begin — your selection is scored in the full session.

Accepted Answer

Enable the Supplier Lifecycle and Performance (SLP) modular questionnaire trigger condition.. Supplier Risk exposure and Registration projects use modular questionnaires to trigger assessments. By leveraging the 'Preferred Supplier' or 'Registration' project templates, administrators can map specific attributes like 'Region' to project conditions. This ensures that when a supplier updates their profile or registers, the system automatically dispatches the compliance questionnaire. This automation is critical for maintaining audit trails and ensuring consistent governance across a global supplier base.

Answer

Create a custom API integration to manually push questionnaires to suppliers.

Answer

Assign a global task to all suppliers using the Supplier Management workspace dashboard.

Answer

Utilize the SAP Ariba Procurement desktop to modify supplier master records manually.

Question 2

Which status indicates that a supplier has successfully completed the registration process and is now eligible to participate in sourcing events?

Accepted Answer

Registered. The 'Registered' status is the milestone that confirms the supplier has submitted all mandatory forms and the internal team has approved the data. This status is critical because it moves the supplier from an 'Invited' or 'Pending' state to an 'Active' state. Without this status, sourcing managers cannot include the supplier in competitive events, as the system enforces this gate to ensure only vetted suppliers are engaged.

Answer

Pending Approval

Answer

Qualified

Answer

Invited

Question 3

Which component in the SAP Ariba Supplier Management architecture is responsible for ensuring that supplier risk data is updated regularly?

Accepted Answer

The Supplier Risk monitoring engine.. The SAP Ariba Supplier Risk module integrates with external data providers to monitor supplier activity continuously. Unlike static registration data, risk data evolves constantly. By automating the refresh rate and monitoring triggers, the system ensures that procurement teams receive proactive alerts regarding adverse media, financial stability, or regulatory changes, allowing them to manage supply chain risks before they impact operations and ensure compliance with corporate risk management policies.

Answer

The Supplier Lifecycle and Performance (SLP) modular questionnaire.

Answer

The Risk Engagement Request process.

Answer

The Master Data Integration (MDI) framework.

Question 4

A procurement manager needs to ensure that all suppliers in a specific region undergo a mandatory environmental compliance survey. Which Ariba Supplier Management feature should be configured to automate this requirement based on supplier registration attributes?

Choose an answer to begin — your selection is scored in the full session.

Accepted Answer

Project template scheduling in SPM. The Supplier Performance Management (SPM) module allows administrators to create project templates that trigger based on recurring schedules. By linking these projects to specific segments, organizations enforce governance. This functionality is critical for risk mitigation, ensuring that high-priority suppliers are consistently evaluated against financial stability metrics, maintaining compliance and supply chain continuity, and preventing oversight in long-term strategic vendor relationships.

Answer

Supplier Lifecycle and Performance (SLP) dashboard alerts

Answer

SM Modular Questionnaire automation

Answer

Supplier request process configuration

Question 5

An organization is implementing SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance. Which TWO data elements must be synchronized from the ERP system to SAP Ariba to enable accurate supplier integration?

Accepted Answer

Vendor Master ID. Synchronizing master data like vendor IDs and payment terms is vital for end-to-end process integrity. Without consistent identifiers, the Ariba network cannot match transactions, leading to reconciliation failures between the procurement system and the ERP. This alignment ensures that supplier record changes are reflected universally, preventing data silos and maintaining the 'single source of truth' required for automated invoicing and payments.

Answer

Supplier Bank Account Details

Answer

Supplier User Contact List

Answer

Supplier Audit Documents

Question 6

Which THREE actions occur when a supplier status is set to 'Disqualified' in SAP Ariba?

Accepted Answer

The supplier is removed from the search results. Disqualification is a major lifecycle event. The system must restrict the supplier from new procurement activity to prevent non-compliant spending. This action is critical for risk management, as it prevents users from creating new purchase orders or contracts with vendors who have failed to meet performance or compliance standards, thereby protecting the organization's supply chain integrity and ensuring only vetted, active suppliers are engaged in business.

Answer

All existing invoices are automatically cancelled

Answer

The supplier's master data is deleted from the ERP

Question 7

Which TWO of the following are valid ways to trigger a supplier registration in SAP Ariba?

Accepted Answer

Internal procurement user initiates a request. Initiating registration is a controlled process. Whether through a bulk invitation or an internal request, these methods ensure that the supplier is properly identified and routed through the correct workflow. Proper initiation is the foundation of data integrity; without these controlled entry points, the system could suffer from duplicate vendor records and incomplete data, compromising the efficacy of all subsequent supplier management and procurement activities.

Answer

The supplier self-registers via an open URL

Answer

Automatic creation via the ERP invoice matching

Answer

Direct database injection via API

Question 8

Which TWO of the following statements are correct regarding the integration between SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Risk and SAP S/4HANA?

Accepted Answer

Supplier data is natively replicated to the S/4HANA Business Partner model.. Integrating Ariba with S/4HANA ensures that business partner data remains synchronized across the landscape. The master data, such as vendor IDs and organizational structures, must align perfectly to enable seamless procurement. These two systems communicate via the CIG (Cloud Integration Gateway), which translates data formats and manages technical mappings. Mastering this integration is essential for consultants who need to maintain end-to-end data consistency in a hybrid ERP environment.

Answer

Transactional data is limited to only purchase orders.

Answer

Master data updates only flow from S/4HANA to Ariba.

Answer

No mapping of organizational structures is needed.

Question 9

A buyer creates a modular questionnaire in SAP Ariba Supplier Management and sends it to a supplier. The supplier completes and submits the questionnaire, but the buyer notices that the supplier's answers are not visible in the supplier's profile. The buyer has verified that the questionnaire is in 'Submitted' status. What is the most likely cause?

Accepted Answer

The questionnaire responses are only visible after the buyer approves the questionnaire.. Modular questionnaire responses are not immediately reflected in the supplier's profile upon submission. The buyer must review and approve the questionnaire to publish the responses. This approval step ensures that only validated information becomes part of the supplier's record. Therefore, the missing visibility is due to the pending approval, not a configuration error or permission issue.

Answer

The modular questionnaire is not linked to the supplier's registration project.

Answer

The questionnaire template is configured to hide responses from the buyer until the supplier marks them as final.

Answer

The supplier's user does not have the 'Questionnaire Responder' role assigned.

Question 10

A supplier manager needs to ensure that a supplier's certificate of insurance is automatically validated before the supplier can be awarded a contract. Which SAP Ariba Supplier Management feature should be configured to enforce this requirement?

Accepted Answer

Supplier compliance rule. Supplier compliance rules are designed to enforce mandatory requirements, such as valid insurance certificates, before a supplier can be awarded a contract. These rules are evaluated automatically, and if the supplier does not meet the criteria, the contract award is blocked. This ensures that only compliant suppliers receive contracts, reducing risk. Other features like registration or qualification templates do not provide this ongoing enforcement.

Answer

Supplier performance scorecard

Answer

Supplier qualification template

Answer

Supplier registration questionnaire

Question 11

A buyer is configuring a supplier qualification process in SAP Ariba Supplier Management. They need to ensure that the qualification process automatically triggers a re-evaluation when certain conditions are met. Which two conditions can be configured to automatically trigger a re-evaluation of a qualified supplier? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

A scheduled periodic re-evaluation date. Qualification processes in SAP Ariba Supplier Management can be configured to automatically trigger re-evaluation based on certificate expiration and scheduled periodic dates. These triggers help maintain up-to-date supplier qualifications without manual intervention. Other events like ownership changes, performance drops, or new commodities do not automatically trigger qualification re-evaluation; they may require separate actions or processes.

Answer

A change in the supplier's ownership structure

Answer

A new commodity added to the supplier's profile

Answer

A drop in the supplier's performance score below a defined threshold

Question 12

A supplier manager is reviewing a supplier's profile in SAP Ariba Supplier Management and notices that the supplier has a 'Registered' status but cannot be selected in a sourcing event. The supplier manager confirms that the supplier has completed registration and all required fields are populated. What is the most likely reason the supplier is unavailable for sourcing?

Accepted Answer

The supplier's status is 'Registered' but not 'Qualified' for the relevant commodity.. In SAP Ariba Supplier Management, a supplier must be qualified for a specific commodity to be selectable in sourcing events for that commodity. A 'Registered' status only indicates that the supplier has completed registration; it does not grant sourcing eligibility. Qualification is a separate process that validates the supplier's capabilities for a commodity. Therefore, the supplier is unavailable because they are not qualified for the relevant commodity.

Answer

The supplier has not been invited to the sourcing event.

Answer

The supplier's registration has not been approved by the buyer.

Answer

The supplier's user account is inactive.

Question 13

A buying organization uses SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance. The category manager for IT hardware wants to ensure that only suppliers who have passed a specialized security assessment can be invited to sourcing events for a new firewall project. The security assessment template already exists and is active. Which configuration step is required to enforce this restriction?

Accepted Answer

In the sourcing event's eligibility settings, add a qualification requirement that references the security assessment template.. Sourcing events can enforce qualification requirements by referencing qualification templates in their eligibility settings. This ensures that only suppliers who have successfully completed the specified assessment can participate. Other methods like supplier groups, registration templates, or manual status changes do not automatically gate event participation based on a specific assessment.

Answer

Modify the supplier registration template to include the security assessment as a mandatory questionnaire, so all new suppliers complete it before registration approval.

Answer

Set the supplier's status to 'Qualified' for the IT hardware commodity after the security assessment is approved, and rely on that status for event invitations.

Answer

Create a new supplier group that includes only suppliers with a passing security assessment score, and assign that group to the sourcing event.

Question 14

A supplier manager is configuring a new modular questionnaire in SAP Ariba Supplier Management to collect detailed information about a supplier's data privacy practices. The questionnaire will be sent to suppliers as part of a qualification process. The manager wants to ensure that the questionnaire can be reused across multiple projects and that responses are version-controlled. Which two configuration settings are required to meet these requirements? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

Enable versioning for the questionnaire template in the template properties.. Modular questionnaires in SAP Ariba are designed for reuse and version control. Enabling the modular option allows the questionnaire to be embedded in multiple templates, and enabling versioning ensures that changes are tracked and historical responses remain tied to the correct version. These two settings together meet the requirements.

Answer

Create the questionnaire as a standalone template and link it to the qualification process.

Answer

Set the questionnaire as 'Public' in the visibility settings.

Answer

Assign the questionnaire to a specific commodity code.

Question 15

A supplier management administrator needs to ensure that all new suppliers in a specific category are automatically evaluated for risk before they can be used in sourcing events. The administrator wants to configure a process that triggers a risk assessment when a supplier is registered for that category. Which SAP Ariba feature should be used?

Accepted Answer

Supplier registration workflow with a risk assessment step. The supplier registration workflow can be customized to include a risk assessment step, which automatically triggers when a supplier registers for a specific category. This ensures that risk evaluation is completed before the supplier can participate in sourcing events. Other options do not provide the automated, category-specific trigger required.
