They are responsible for reviewing registrations, managing qualifications, and ensuring overall data quality. This role is central to the governance of the supplier base, serving as the bridge between procurement requirements and supplier compliance, ensuring that every vendor added to the system adheres to the organization's standards for risk, performance, and legal readiness.

By setting expiration triggers, the system automatically sends notifications to suppliers to provide updated documentation. This is crucial for maintaining compliance and minimizing disruption, ensuring that the organization does not accidentally engage with non-compliant suppliers due to expired certifications, while also reducing the manual administrative burden of tracking individual document validity across a broad supplier base.

Question 3

In the context of the Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance, what does the 'Pending' status signify for a registration project?

Accepted Answer

The registration process is currently waiting for a required action.. The 'Pending' status indicates that the registration process is currently awaiting an action, usually from the supplier to complete the questionnaire or from internal stakeholders to review and approve the submitted data. This status is vital for tracking the lifecycle of the registration; it provides visibility into bottlenecks, allowing procurement managers to identify where the process is stalled and take appropriate action to move the supplier toward a fully approved status.

Answer

The supplier is fully approved and can receive POs.

Answer

The supplier has been rejected due to poor data quality.

Answer

The system is currently syncing data to the ERP.

Question 4

In Ariba Supplier Risk, what is the primary purpose of 'Risk Exposure' analysis?

Accepted Answer

To identify potential impacts of supplier disruptions.. Risk Exposure analysis allows procurement teams to identify which of their current suppliers pose the highest risk to business continuity based on factors like geographic location, financial health, or regulatory history. This analysis enables proactive risk mitigation, allowing companies to diversify their supply chain, set up contingency plans, or exit high-risk relationships before they cause significant financial or reputational damage to the organization.

Answer

To calculate the total spend with all suppliers.

Answer

To automate the negotiation of contract terms.

Answer

To collect diversity data from new suppliers.

Question 5

Which Ariba feature enables an organization to provide feedback to a supplier regarding their performance after a project concludes?

Accepted Answer

Supplier Performance Management (SPM). Supplier Performance Management (SPM) enables structured feedback loops. By allowing stakeholders to rate and comment on a supplier's performance, the organization creates a data-rich environment for future decision-making. This feedback is critical for maintaining high standards, as it forces accountability and provides clear evidence for why a supplier may be selected or excluded from future sourcing events, effectively driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Question 7

Refer to the exhibit. A procurement administrator is unable to launch a new internal request for a supplier. What is the most effective way to resolve this error?

Accepted Answer

Update the template in the Template Editor.. The error message identifies a specific configuration gap: a mandatory field ('Commodity_Code') is missing from the underlying template. To resolve this, the administrator must modify the associated project template in the Template Editor to include the missing field. This ensures that all required data points are captured during the initiation phase, preventing similar errors in future requests and maintaining the integrity of the supplier lifecycle management data capture process.

Answer

Restart the Ariba web server.

Answer

Re-assign the supplier to a new commodity manager.

Answer

Clear the browser cache for all users.

Question 8

A company requires suppliers to provide different sets of compliance certifications based on the region in which they operate. How should this be configured in the Supplier Management system?

Accepted Answer

Use conditional field and section visibility rules based on supplier attributes.. Configuring conditional visibility within modular questionnaires allows for dynamic data collection. By mapping questionnaire sections to specific supplier attributes, such as 'Operating Region,' the system automatically presents the relevant certification requests. This approach reduces the burden on suppliers by only asking for applicable documents, improves data quality by ensuring relevant information is captured, and provides procurement with a tailored compliance view that simplifies the audit process and reduces unnecessary administrative overhead.

Answer

Create separate registration projects for every individual region.

Answer

Use a single, massive questionnaire that includes all global certifications.

Answer

Configure external integration to pull certification data from the supplier's website.

Question 9

Refer to the exhibit. What is the effect of this JSON policy configuration on the Supplier Registration process?

Accepted Answer

The user is prevented from submitting the questionnaire until the specific attachments are provided.. The policy mandates that specific documents are uploaded before the registration can be submitted. By using 'block_on_submission', the system prevents the supplier from finishing the questionnaire until the required files are present. This ensures that the procurement team receives complete documentation packages, significantly reducing the back-and-forth communication needed to correct missing information and ensuring that internal compliance teams have the necessary evidence to approve the supplier immediately.

Answer

The registration will be marked as 'Pending' if the files are missing.

Answer

The system will automatically email the supplier to request the missing files.

Answer

Attachments will be automatically scanned for viruses before submission.

Question 10

How does the 'Supplier 360' view facilitate better decision-making for procurement professionals?

Accepted Answer

It centralizes data from across the Ariba suite for a comprehensive supplier overview.. The Supplier 360 dashboard provides a unified view of all data points for a supplier, including performance metrics, contract status, and compliance documentation. By aggregating information from disparate modules like Sourcing, Contracts, and SLP, it allows procurement teams to identify risks and opportunities holistically. This visibility is essential for strategic decision-making, as it eliminates the need to cross-reference multiple screens, thereby improving the speed and accuracy of decisions regarding supplier renewals or potential contract expansions.

Answer

It provides real-time access to the supplier's internal bank account balances.

Answer

It allows procurement to override the supplier's profile data at any time.

Answer

It automates the drafting of new contracts based on performance history.
