System Architecture
System Architecture is 15% of LPIC-1 and covers the machine underneath Linux: hardware, boot firmware, kernel modules, and the sysfs/procfs interfaces. Exam 101 tests it through scenario questions on BIOS/UEFI versus MBR/GPT partitioning, GRUB 2 configuration and recovery, runlevels and systemd targets, plus udev and kernel module handling.
📅 Days 1–7🎯 ~2 questions/day⚖ 15% of exam- ✓Configuring GRUB 2 bootloader options and recovering a system that fails to boot
- ✓Identifying BIOS/MBR versus UEFI/GPT partitioning schemes and their boot implications
- ✓Managing kernel modules with lsmod, modprobe, modinfo, insmod and /etc/modprobe.d
