1Y0-312 Migration and Cloud Integration Practice Test 4 — 15 Questions

Question 1

An administrator is migrating to Citrix Cloud and intends to use Azure Files for profile management. Which protocol must be supported and enabled in the Azure storage account to allow FSLogix to store profile containers effectively?

Choose an answer to begin — your selection is scored in the full session.

Accepted Answer

SMB 3.0. FSLogix relies on standard file system locking mechanisms to manage user profiles, particularly when multiple session hosts access the same container. Azure Files supports SMB 3.0, which is the required protocol for FSLogix to ensure data integrity and proper file locking. Without SMB, the profile container would become corrupted or inaccessible during high-concurrency login scenarios, causing significant user experience issues.

Answer

NFS 4.1

Answer

HTTPS/REST

Answer

FTP/SFTP

Question 2

When migrating to Citrix Cloud, why is it recommended to use a separate dedicated resource location for the Cloud Connectors rather than co-locating them on existing servers?

Accepted Answer

Isolation prevents resource contention and ensures management stability.. Resource location isolation is a best practice to ensure that the management plane (Cloud Connectors) is not impacted by the resource-intensive workloads (VDAs) running on the same hardware. Co-location can lead to performance contention, where spikes in VDA CPU or memory usage starve the Cloud Connector, causing connectivity drops between the resource location and the Citrix Cloud control plane, which destabilizes the entire site.

Answer

Cloud Connectors require a different hypervisor than the VDAs.

Answer

Co-locating triggers a licensing penalty for the site.

Answer

Cloud Connectors must reside in a separate domain from the VDAs.

Question 3

Which component is responsible for brokering the connection between the user and the VDA in a Citrix Cloud deployment?

Accepted Answer

The Citrix Cloud control plane.. The Citrix Cloud control plane hosts the service-side components that handle user authentication and connection brokering. When a user connects, the cloud service determines the best available resource and instructs the VDA to establish the session. The Cloud Connector acts as the secure proxy for these instructions, ensuring that the cloud-hosted broker can control the on-premises resources effectively without needing an inbound internet connection to the VDA.

Answer

The local VDA.

Answer

The local StoreFront server.

Answer

The local Cloud Connector.

Question 4

When migrating to Citrix Cloud, what is the primary benefit of the 'Outbound-only' communication architecture of the Cloud Connector?

Accepted Answer

It eliminates the need for inbound firewall rules.. The outbound-only communication model is a major security advantage because it eliminates the need to open inbound firewall ports to the internal environment. This significantly reduces the attack surface, as external threats cannot reach the local infrastructure directly. The Cloud Connector initiates all connections to the Citrix Cloud control plane, allowing for robust, secure, and easily managed communication without jeopardizing the integrity of the internal network's security posture.

Answer

It increases the speed of session launches.

Answer

It provides a local backup for brokering services.

Answer

It automatically scales the number of VDAs.

Question 5

An administrator is planning the migration of a large environment. What is the recommended number of Cloud Connectors per resource location to ensure high availability?

Accepted Answer

Two. Citrix recommends at least two Cloud Connectors per resource location to ensure redundancy. If one connector fails or requires maintenance, the second one takes over the management traffic immediately. This is a mandatory best practice for enterprise environments to ensure that the site does not lose its connection to the Citrix Cloud control plane, which would otherwise result in an outage for all users attempting to launch applications.

Question 6

An administrator is migrating an on-premises Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops site to Citrix DaaS on Azure. Which step is essential to ensure that existing Machine Catalogs can be managed via the Citrix Cloud control plane?

Accepted Answer

Install at least two Citrix Cloud Connectors in the resource location.. Migrating to Citrix Cloud requires the transition of the site management plane. Installing Cloud Connectors acts as the bridge between the local resource location and the Citrix Cloud control plane. This is critical because the Cloud Connector allows the Citrix Cloud management console to communicate with the local hypervisor or cloud infrastructure to manage power operations and image updates for the existing machine catalogs without requiring a full redeployment of the workload VMs.

Answer

Rebuild all existing master images using the Citrix Provisioning target device software.

Answer

Perform a manual SQL database migration to the Citrix Cloud SQL instance.

Answer

Configure a Site-to-Site VPN between the Cloud Connectors and the on-premises database.

Question 7

When migrating to Citrix DaaS, which tool should an administrator use to prepare the existing on-premises machine catalogs for cloud management?

Accepted Answer

Citrix Automated Configuration Tool. The Citrix Automated Configuration tool is designed to move configurations, including machine catalogs, from on-premises to Citrix Cloud. This tool matters because it automates the translation of local settings into a format that the Cloud service can consume. Using this tool reduces manual errors and ensures that complex catalog configurations, power management settings, and image paths are correctly transitioned, significantly shortening the migration window and reducing downtime during the transition phase.

Answer

Citrix Studio Import Wizard

Answer

Citrix Provisioning Migration Wizard

Answer

Citrix Director Power Management Console

Question 8

Refer to the exhibit. The administrator receives an error stating 'Catalog not found' when running the second command. What is the cause of this error?

Accepted Answer

The catalog creation has not fully committed to the broker database.. In Citrix PowerShell, object creation is asynchronous. Running commands sequentially without a delay or verification step can result in the second command firing before the broker has finished committing the catalog to the database. This matters because it illustrates the importance of robust scripting in migration scenarios. Properly handling the object state before proceeding prevents script failure and ensures that resources are correctly grouped within the site configuration.

Answer

The MachineImage path is invalid for the current Azure subscription.

Answer

The PowerShell session timed out during catalog creation.

Answer

The Add-BrokerMachine cmdlet requires the -HostingConnection parameter.

Question 9

An administrator is migrating to Citrix Cloud and wants to minimize the number of Cloud Connectors. What is the factor that primarily dictates the number of Cloud Connectors required?

Accepted Answer

The number of concurrent sessions and total VDAs.. Cloud Connector sizing is primarily determined by the number of sessions and the number of machines managed per site. Because the connector acts as the control plane gateway, it handles all registration and management traffic. Proper sizing is essential to ensure that the control plane can keep up with connection requests and that high availability is maintained during peak load periods without causing registration delays.

Answer

The amount of user profile data stored in the cloud.

Answer

The geographic distance to the nearest Citrix Gateway.

Answer

The number of printers defined in the Universal Print Server.

Question 10

An administrator is migrating an on-premises site to Citrix Cloud and discovers that some VDAs are not registering after the transition. The administrator verified that the Cloud Connector is healthy. What is the most likely cause?

Accepted Answer

The VDA registration address is still pointing to the on-premises controllers.. VDA registration relies on the VDA finding the controller (the Cloud Connector). In a cloud-managed site, the VDA must be told to look at the new connectors. If the registry keys or Group Policies are still pointing to the old on-premises site, the VDA will attempt to register with the wrong entity. Correcting the VDA-side discovery configuration is the final critical step in ensuring the VDA connects to the cloud service.

Answer

The Cloud Connector is missing the VDA registration certificate.

Answer

The Citrix Cloud service account lacks permissions to the VDA.

Answer

The Azure Subnet is blocking traffic on port 80.

Question 11

An administrator is planning to migrate an on-premises Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 site to Citrix DaaS. The on-premises site currently uses Citrix Provisioning (PVS) to stream images to 500 non-persistent VDAs. The administrator wants to minimize downtime and re-use existing master images where possible. Which migration approach should the administrator take to move these machines to Citrix DaaS?

Accepted Answer

Provision new VDAs in the cloud using Machine Creation Services (MCS) with a prepared master image, then cut over users after validation.. Citrix DaaS uses MCS (or Citrix Provisioning in a supported on-premises resource location, but not for cloud-hosted catalogs) to provision machines. Migrating a PVS-streamed non-persistent workload to Citrix DaaS requires building new catalogs with MCS using a prepared master image. This allows the administrator to validate the new environment before cutting users over, minimizing downtime and reusing the existing image where possible.

Answer

Configure a Cloud Connector to proxy PVS streaming traffic from the on-premises PVS servers to the new cloud-hosted VDAs.

Answer

Use the Citrix Cloud Migration Tool to export the existing PVS vDisk and import it into a Citrix Managed Azure catalog.

Answer

Keep the existing PVS infrastructure on-premises and register the PVS-streamed VDAs directly with the Citrix Cloud control plane.

Question 12

An administrator is migrating an on-premises Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 site to Citrix DaaS. The on-premises site currently uses Provisioning Services (PVS) to stream images to 500 virtual desktops. The administrator wants to continue using PVS during and after the migration. Which statement accurately describes the supported configuration for PVS in a Citrix DaaS deployment?

Accepted Answer

Citrix DaaS supports PVS provisioning for on-premises resource locations, but the PVS servers must reside in the same resource location as the VDAs and be managed through Citrix Cloud Studio.. Citrix DaaS supports Provisioning Services for on-premises resource locations, allowing administrators to keep their existing PVS infrastructure while moving the control plane to Citrix Cloud. The PVS servers and target devices must reside in the same resource location, and management is performed through Citrix Cloud Studio. This hybrid approach enables a gradual migration without re-architecting the provisioning method.

Answer

Citrix DaaS supports PVS provisioning only for session hosts in a Citrix Gateway deployment, and the PVS servers must be located in a different resource location to provide high availability.

Answer

Citrix DaaS supports PVS only when the PVS servers are hosted in Citrix Cloud and the VDAs are on-premises, using a Cloud Connector for communication.

Answer

Citrix DaaS requires that all PVS-streamed VDAs be converted to Machine Creation Services (MCS) before migration, because PVS is not supported in any Citrix DaaS deployment model.

Question 13

An administrator is migrating an on-premises Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 site to Citrix DaaS. The on-premises site uses a Citrix Gateway (formerly NetScaler) for external access. After migration, the administrator wants to continue using the existing Citrix Gateway to provide external access to the published resources. Which statement correctly describes the integration of an on-premises Citrix Gateway with Citrix DaaS?

Accepted Answer

The on-premises Citrix Gateway can be used with Citrix DaaS by configuring it to point to the Citrix Workspace URL or a StoreFront server that is integrated with Citrix DaaS, and it does not require a Cloud Connector on the Gateway itself.. An on-premises Citrix Gateway can be leveraged with Citrix DaaS by configuring it to direct users to the Citrix Workspace URL or an integrated StoreFront server. This allows organizations to maintain their existing external access infrastructure without deploying a Cloud Connector on the Gateway. Cloud Connectors are still required to connect the on-premises resource location to Citrix Cloud for VDA registration and communication.

Answer

The on-premises Citrix Gateway can be integrated with Citrix DaaS by using the Citrix Gateway service in Citrix Cloud, which requires the Gateway to be registered with Citrix Cloud.

Answer

The on-premises Citrix Gateway can be used with Citrix DaaS by configuring it as a StoreFront server, and it requires a Cloud Connector to be installed on the Gateway.

Answer

The on-premises Citrix Gateway can be used with Citrix DaaS only if it is first migrated to Citrix Cloud and configured as a Gateway Connector within the Citrix Cloud console.

Question 14

An administrator is migrating an on-premises Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops site to Citrix DaaS. The on-premises site uses Provisioning Services (PVS) to stream images to VDAs. The administrator wants to continue using PVS after the migration. Which statement is true regarding PVS support in Citrix DaaS?

Accepted Answer

PVS can be used in Citrix DaaS with Cloud Connectors, but the PVS servers must remain on-premises.. PVS remains supported in Citrix DaaS when the PVS servers are kept on-premises and connected via Cloud Connectors. This allows administrators to leverage existing PVS infrastructure and streaming images while benefiting from cloud-based management. The Cloud Connectors enable the necessary communication between the cloud control plane and the on-premises PVS environment.

Answer

PVS is not supported in Citrix DaaS; the administrator must migrate to MCS.

Answer

PVS can be used in Citrix DaaS only for non-persistent desktops, not for published applications.

Answer

PVS can be used in Citrix DaaS only if the PVS servers are hosted in Citrix Cloud.

Question 15

An administrator is migrating an on-premises Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 site to Citrix DaaS. The on-premises site uses Citrix Profile Management with a file share hosted on a Windows Server 2016 file server. After migration, the administrator wants to continue using Citrix Profile Management but needs to ensure that user profiles remain accessible to the VDAs in the resource location. Which action must the administrator take?

Accepted Answer

Ensure that the VDAs in the resource location can access the existing profile share over the network.. The key requirement for continuing to use Citrix Profile Management after migration is that the VDAs in the resource location must have network access to the profile share. The share can remain on-premises or be moved to a cloud-based file service, but connectivity is essential. Recreating profiles or using a database are not valid approaches. Maintaining access to the existing share ensures a seamless user experience.

Answer

Configure Citrix Profile Management to use a database instead of a file share for profile storage.

Answer

Migrate the profile share to Azure Files and configure Citrix Profile Management to use the Azure Files path.

Answer

Recreate all user profiles in the new environment because profiles cannot be migrated.
