AI Associate Data for AI Practice Test 15 — 15 Questions

Question 1

A Salesforce administrator is integrating external data into Data Cloud to enhance an AI model. The external data contains customer addresses with inconsistent formatting (e.g., 'St.' vs 'Street', 'Ave' vs 'Avenue'). What is the most effective approach to prepare this data for the model?

Choose an answer to begin — your selection is scored in the full session.

Accepted Answer

Use Data Cloud's data transformation capabilities to standardize address formats before ingesting into the model.. Inconsistent address formatting introduces noise that can mislead the model if address-derived features are used. Standardizing formats during data transformation in Data Cloud ensures that similar addresses are recognized as such, improving the quality of features. This preprocessing step is essential for accurate predictions and is a best practice in data preparation for AI.

Answer

Exclude address fields from the model to avoid the complexity of standardization.

Answer

Ingest the data as-is and rely on the AI model to automatically handle inconsistencies.

Answer

Create a custom formula field in Salesforce to concatenate all address components into a single string.

Question 2

A data engineer at a retail company is building a propensity-to-buy model in Einstein Studio using Data Cloud. The training dataset includes a 'LastPurchaseDate' field. The engineer notices that many records have purchase dates from 2018, while the model is intended to predict purchases for the upcoming holiday season in 2024. Which data quality dimension is most directly compromised?

Accepted Answer

Timeliness. Timeliness is the data quality dimension that ensures data is current enough for its intended use. In this predictive modeling scenario, using purchase dates from 2018 to forecast 2024 behavior introduces staleness. The model may learn outdated patterns that no longer apply, reducing predictive accuracy. Addressing timeliness by filtering to recent transactions or creating recency features helps align the training data with the prediction context.

Question 3

A Salesforce admin is preparing a dataset for an Einstein Discovery model that predicts case escalation. The dataset includes a field for customer satisfaction score (CSAT), but 40% of the records have no CSAT value because surveys were not returned. Which action should the admin take to address the missing values before training the model?

Accepted Answer

Use Einstein Discovery's built-in missing value handling by leaving the field as is, since the platform automatically imputes or excludes missing values during training.. Einstein Discovery has built-in mechanisms for handling missing values, so the admin can leave the CSAT field as is and let the platform impute or exclude missing entries during training. Deleting records, using artificial placeholders, or discarding the field all introduce bias or lose predictive signal. The platform's native handling is the intended approach for this common data quality issue.

Answer

Replace missing CSAT values with a placeholder like -1 and treat the field as numeric.

Answer

Create a formula field that converts CSAT to a binary 'responded' indicator and drop the original CSAT field.

Answer

Delete all records with missing CSAT values so the model trains only on complete data.

Question 4

A Salesforce administrator is preparing data for an AI model that predicts customer lifetime value. They notice that the 'AnnualRevenue' field on Account records has many outliers, such as negative values and extremely high numbers. What should the administrator do to address this data quality issue?

Accepted Answer

Remove all records with negative revenue and cap extremely high values at a reasonable threshold.. Negative revenue values are likely errors and should be corrected or removed, while extremely high values can skew model training. Capping high values at a reasonable threshold reduces their influence without discarding data. This cleaning improves the quality of the 'AnnualRevenue' field for predicting customer lifetime value.

Answer

Replace all negative values with zero and leave high values unchanged.

Answer

Leave the outliers as they are, because AI models are robust to extreme values.

Answer

Convert the 'AnnualRevenue' field to a text field to avoid numerical issues.

Question 5

A data engineer is integrating external data into Data Cloud for an AI model. The external data contains a 'Gender' field with values 'M', 'F', 'Male', 'Female', and 'Unknown'. Which Data Cloud feature should be used to standardize these values before mapping to the Data Model Object?

Accepted Answer

Data Cloud Data Transform. Data Cloud Data Transform is the correct feature for standardizing values during ingestion. It enables mapping of inconsistent categorical values to a unified set, ensuring data quality before the data is used for AI models. Other tools operate after ingestion or in different contexts.

Question 6

A financial services company uses Data Cloud to create a unified customer profile for an AI model that predicts loan default risk. The data engineer notices that the 'Income' field from the CRM system and the 'AnnualIncome' field from an external data source frequently disagree for the same customer. Which action should the engineer take to best address this data quality issue for the AI model?

Accepted Answer

Use Data Cloud's reconciliation rules to define a priority order for the income fields.. Data Cloud's reconciliation rules enable data engineers to define which source system's field values take precedence when creating a unified profile. By setting a priority order for income fields, the engineer resolves conflicts consistently and systematically. This ensures the AI model receives a single, trusted income value, which is critical for accurate loan default risk predictions. Relying on manual updates or averaging is not scalable or reliable.

Answer

Exclude both income fields from the model to avoid inconsistency.

Answer

Create a formula field that averages the two income values.

Answer

Manually update the CRM records to match the external source values.

Question 7

A data engineer is preparing a dataset for an Einstein Discovery model to predict customer churn. The dataset includes a field 'CustomerSince' that records the date a customer first joined. The engineer wants to create a new feature that represents the tenure of the customer in months. Which approach is most appropriate?

Accepted Answer

Calculate the difference between the current date and 'CustomerSince' in months and create a new field 'TenureMonths'.. Deriving a 'TenureMonths' feature from 'CustomerSince' is the most appropriate approach because it transforms a date into a meaningful numerical feature that directly relates to churn. Raw dates, year extraction, or binary flags lose information or are not directly usable, while tenure in months provides a continuous measure of customer loyalty.

Answer

Create a binary feature indicating whether the customer has been with the company for more than one year.

Answer

Convert 'CustomerSince' to a numeric value by extracting the year and use that as a feature.

Answer

Use the raw 'CustomerSince' date field directly in the model without transformation.

Question 8

A Salesforce data architect is preparing data for an Einstein Discovery model that predicts opportunity win probability. The source data includes opportunity amounts, close dates, stages, and account industry. The architect wants to ensure the model has high-quality training data. Which two actions should the architect take? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

Ensure that the win/loss label field is populated for all historical opportunities used in training.. High-quality training data requires a fully populated label field so the model can learn from all historical outcomes, and consistent predictor data types with managed outliers so the model interprets features correctly. Including high-cardinality identifiers like owner name or opportunity ID leads to overfitting, and arbitrary date cutoffs are not a data quality best practice.

Answer

Include the opportunity owner's name as a predictor to capture individual sales performance.

Answer

Remove all opportunities that were closed more than five years ago to keep the model current.

Answer

Add the opportunity's unique ID as a predictor to help the model differentiate records.

Question 9

A data scientist is building an Einstein Discovery model to predict customer lifetime value (CLV). The dataset includes a field 'TotalPurchaseAmount' that is highly skewed, with a few customers having extremely high values. The scientist wants to reduce the impact of outliers on the model. Which data transformation technique should they apply?

Accepted Answer

Logarithmic transformation. Logarithmic transformation is specifically designed to handle skewed data by compressing the scale of large values. It reduces the impact of outliers and makes the distribution more symmetric, which can enhance model performance. Other techniques like normalization or standardization do not mitigate outlier effects and can even exacerbate them.

Answer

One-hot encoding

Answer

Normalization (min-max scaling)

Answer

Standardization (z-score normalization)

Question 10

A data engineer is using Data Cloud to prepare a training dataset for an Einstein Discovery model that predicts customer lifetime value (CLV). The dataset contains transactional records at the line-item level, with multiple rows per customer. The model requires one row per customer. Which Data Cloud feature should the engineer use to aggregate the line items into a single customer-level record?

Accepted Answer

Data Cloud calculated insight that aggregates transaction metrics by customer.. Calculated insights in Data Cloud are purpose-built for aggregating data across multiple rows and grouping by a dimension such as customer ID. They produce one row per customer with metrics like total spend, which is exactly what the CLV model needs. Streams, row-level formulas, and identity resolution do not perform the required aggregation.

Answer

Data Cloud data stream with a transformation that groups by customer ID.

Answer

Data Cloud data model object with a formula field that sums transaction amounts.

Answer

Data Cloud identity resolution ruleset that merges transaction records by customer.

Question 11

A telecommunications company is preparing data for an Einstein Studio churn prediction model. The data engineer notices that the 'CustomerTenure' field has a skewed distribution: most customers have tenure under 2 years, but a few have tenure over 20 years. The engineer wants to improve model performance by addressing this skew. Which data preparation technique should the engineer apply?

Accepted Answer

Apply a log transformation to the 'CustomerTenure' field.. Log transformation is a standard technique to reduce right skewness in continuous features like customer tenure. By compressing the upper tail, it makes the distribution more normal, which helps many machine learning algorithms perform better. This preserves all data points while mitigating the disproportionate influence of extreme values. The engineer should apply this transformation in Data Cloud or Einstein Studio's data preparation steps before training the churn model.

Answer

Remove all customers with tenure over 20 years as outliers.

Answer

Convert 'CustomerTenure' into a categorical field with bins.

Answer

Normalize the 'CustomerTenure' field to a 0-1 range.

Question 12

A data engineer is preparing a dataset for an Einstein Discovery model that predicts customer churn. The dataset includes fields such as 'LastPurchaseDate', 'TotalSpend', 'CustomerServiceCalls', and 'Age'. Which two data preparation steps are essential to ensure the model performs well? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

Normalize 'TotalSpend' and 'CustomerServiceCalls' to a similar scale to prevent one from dominating the model.. Converting date fields to numeric durations and scaling numeric features are fundamental data preparation steps for predictive modeling. The date transformation captures recency, while scaling prevents features with larger ranges from dominating the model. These steps ensure that the model can learn from all features fairly and effectively, leading to better churn predictions.

Answer

Remove any records with missing values to avoid errors during model training.

Answer

Encode 'Age' into categorical bins (e.g., 18-25, 26-35) to reduce the impact of outliers.

Answer

Create a new feature that multiplies 'TotalSpend' by 'CustomerServiceCalls' to capture interaction effects.

Question 13

A Salesforce admin is preparing a dataset for an Einstein Prediction Builder model that predicts whether a lead will convert. The dataset contains several fields, including 'Industry', 'AnnualRevenue', 'NumberOfEmployees', and 'LeadSource'. The admin notices that 'Industry' has many missing values, 'AnnualRevenue' has some outliers, and 'LeadSource' has inconsistent entries (e.g., 'Web', 'Website', 'web'). Which TWO data preparation steps should the admin take to improve data quality for the model? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

Standardize 'LeadSource' entries by mapping 'Web', 'Website', and 'web' to a single value.. Imputing missing categorical values with the mode and standardizing inconsistent categorical entries are both essential data cleaning steps. They address the specific problems of missing 'Industry' values and inconsistent 'LeadSource' entries, improving data completeness and consistency. These steps directly enhance the dataset's quality for training a reliable model.

Answer

Apply a logarithmic transformation to 'AnnualRevenue' to handle outliers.

Answer

Remove records with missing 'Industry' values.

Answer

Bin 'AnnualRevenue' into categories such as low, medium, high.

Question 14

A Salesforce data architect is preparing a Data Cloud dataset to train an Einstein Studio model for predicting customer lifetime value. The dataset includes fields such as 'CustomerID', 'LastPurchaseDate', 'TotalSpend', and 'PreferredChannel'. The architect must ensure the data is ready for AI. Which two actions should the architect take to address potential data quality issues that could degrade model performance? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

Ensure 'LastPurchaseDate' is stored in a consistent date format and convert it to a recency feature.. Ensuring uniqueness of CustomerID prevents data leakage and incorrect aggregations, which are critical for reliable model training. Converting LastPurchaseDate to a consistent format and deriving a recency feature addresses both consistency and feature engineering, making the data more usable for the model. These two actions directly improve data quality and readiness for Einstein Studio, whereas imputation, arbitrary removal, and binning are either risky or premature.

Answer

Remove all records where 'TotalSpend' is zero to reduce noise.

Answer

Replace missing 'PreferredChannel' values with the most frequent channel.

Answer

Convert 'TotalSpend' to a categorical field with high, medium, and low bins.

Question 15

A data scientist is building a predictive model in Salesforce Data Cloud to forecast next quarter's sales. The dataset includes historical sales, marketing spend, and economic indicators. The data scientist notices that the 'Marketing_Spend' feature has a high correlation with the target 'Sales' but also with another feature 'Economic_Indicator'. The model's performance is unstable, with high variance in predictions. Which issue is most likely causing this instability?

Accepted Answer

Multicollinearity between 'Marketing_Spend' and 'Economic_Indicator'.. Multicollinearity arises when independent variables are highly correlated, making it hard for the model to determine the individual impact of each feature. This leads to unstable coefficient estimates and high variance in predictions. In this case, the correlation between marketing spend and economic indicator is likely causing the instability. Techniques like removing one of the correlated features, using principal component analysis, or applying regularization can mitigate the issue.

Answer

Overfitting due to too many features relative to observations.

Answer

Data leakage from including future economic indicators.

Answer

Underfitting because the model is too simple to capture the relationship.
