Create a unique index on the JSON field using a JSON search index

Answer

Create a materialized view that computes uniqueness

Question 5

You are designing a new application on Oracle Database 23ai that will use AI Vector Search. The application needs to store vector embeddings for product descriptions and perform similarity searches. Which two statements are true about the VECTOR data type and vector indexes in 23ai? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

The VECTOR data type can store vectors with up to 65,535 dimensions, and the dimension count must be specified at column creation time if the column is not defined as flexible.. The VECTOR data type supports up to 65,535 dimensions, and you can specify dimension and format at column definition. Vector indexes are created with CREATE VECTOR INDEX and are automatically maintained for DML, enabling efficient approximate similarity searches. These are core capabilities of AI Vector Search in 23ai.

Answer

Vector indexes in 23ai support only exact nearest neighbor searches, not approximate searches, to guarantee accuracy.

Answer

The VECTOR data type stores vectors only in binary format, and you must use the TO_VECTOR function to convert numeric arrays before insertion.

Answer

A VECTOR column can be indexed only if it is declared with the FLEXIBLE keyword, which allows variable dimensions.

Question 6

You are the lead DBA for a SaaS platform on Oracle Database 23ai. Your development team frequently performs DDL changes on large production tables. They complain that DDL operations block active transactions and cause timeouts. You need to enable a feature that allows concurrent DML during certain DDL operations without requiring a maintenance window. Which 23ai feature should you implement?

Accepted Answer

DDL with the CONCURRENTLY clause. The CONCURRENTLY clause in 23ai allows specific DDL operations to run while DML is active, minimizing disruption. This is a new feature designed for high-availability environments where schema changes must not block transactions. Other options either do not provide this capability or are unrelated to DDL concurrency.

Answer

Online DDL with the ONLINE keyword

Answer

Lock-Free Reservations

Answer

Real-Time SQL Plan Management

Question 7

A database administrator is configuring True Cache for a read-mostly application. The application connects directly to the True Cache instance. Which initialization parameter must be set on the True Cache instance to specify the primary database it will cache?

Accepted Answer

TRUE_CACHE. To configure a True Cache instance, the TRUE_CACHE initialization parameter must be set to the connect descriptor of the primary database. This parameter establishes the link between the True Cache and its primary, allowing the cache to retrieve and cache data. Other parameters like TRUE_CACHE_PRIMARY or PRIMARY_DB are not recognized by Oracle and would prevent the instance from starting correctly.

Answer

PRIMARY_DB

Answer

CACHE_TARGET

Answer

TRUE_CACHE_PRIMARY

Question 8

A financial services company runs an Oracle 23ai database that processes high-volume transactions. They need to enforce strict data integrity for a new application that requires immutable audit trails. The compliance team mandates that no user, including DBAs, can modify or delete rows once inserted. Which 23ai feature should be implemented to meet this requirement?

Accepted Answer

Blockchain tables. Blockchain tables are designed for tamper-evident, insert-only data, making them ideal for immutable audit trails. They provide cryptographic guarantees that no row has been altered, which is essential for regulatory compliance. Other features may restrict access but do not offer the same level of assurance against modification.

Answer

Database Vault realm

Answer

Audit Vault and Database Firewall

Answer

Immutable tables

Question 9

You are working with Oracle Database 23ai and need to manage schema-level privileges for a new application. The application requires that users can create tables and also grant those privileges to other users. Which two statements are true about schema-level privileges in 23ai? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

You can grant schema-level privileges to a role, and users granted that role inherit the privileges.. Schema-level privileges in Oracle Database 23ai can be granted with WITH ADMIN OPTION to allow further granting, and they can be granted to roles for inheritance. The WITH ADMIN OPTION does not permit revocation by the grantee, and privileges are not granted with grant option by default. Revocation is always possible. These behaviors align with standard Oracle privilege management.

Answer

Schema-level privileges are always granted with the WITH GRANT OPTION by default.

Answer

The WITH ADMIN OPTION allows the grantee to grant the privilege to others and also to revoke it.

Answer

Schema-level privileges cannot be revoked once granted.

Question 10

A database administrator is evaluating the use of True Cache in Oracle Database 23ai to offload read-only queries from the primary database. Which two statements about True Cache are correct? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

True Cache can be used to serve read-only queries while the primary database handles read-write transactions.. True Cache instances can be configured to start automatically with the primary database, ensuring high availability of the cache. True Cache is specifically designed to serve read-only queries while the primary database handles read-write transactions, providing read scaling and offloading. These two statements correctly describe key aspects of True Cache. The other statements are incorrect: True Cache does not require separate storage, does not support all data types without restrictions, and is typically deployed on separate servers for scalability.

Answer

True Cache requires a separate database instance with its own storage for cached data.

Answer

True Cache supports all data types, including LOBs, without any restrictions.

Answer

True Cache can be deployed on the same server as the primary database to reduce network latency.

Question 11

You are a DBA for an e-commerce application on Oracle Database 23ai. The application experiences high concurrency on an inventory table, where multiple sessions frequently update the same rows, causing lock contention. You decide to implement Lock-Free Reservations. Which two statements are true about this feature? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

It allows concurrent updates to a numeric column by reserving a portion of the value.. Lock-Free Reservations allow concurrent updates to numeric columns by reserving portions of the value, eliminating row lock contention. The column must be defined with the RESERVABLE constraint. This feature is designed for high-concurrency environments where traditional locking would bottleneck performance.

Answer

It requires the database to be in ARCHIVELOG mode.

Answer

It can be used on any data type, including VARCHAR2 and DATE.

Answer

It automatically converts row locks to table-level locks to improve performance.

Question 12

You are implementing AI Vector Search in Oracle Database 23ai. Which data type is mandatory for storing vector embeddings?

Accepted Answer

VECTOR. Oracle Database 23ai introduces the VECTOR data type specifically for storing vector embeddings, and it is mandatory for AI Vector Search because it defines the dimensions and numeric format needed for distance calculations. Other data types such as BLOB or CLOB can store binary or character data but do not carry the vector semantics, dimensions, or format required by vector indexes and functions.

Answer

BLOB

Answer

CLOB

Answer

JSON

Question 13

When using Blockchain Tables, what is the default behavior for rows that have reached their 'no drop' period?

Accepted Answer

Rows remain immutable until deleted manually. In Oracle Blockchain Tables, rows are immutable and cannot be updated or deleted until the 'no drop' period expires. After the no-drop period, the default behavior is that rows remain immutable until explicitly deleted by a user—they are not automatically purged. This preserves the tamper-evident nature of the blockchain table while allowing administrative cleanup.

Answer

Rows are moved to archive storage

Answer

Rows are automatically purged

Answer

Rows become updateable

Question 14

You have a vector index and notice search performance is slow. Which index type should you use to optimize similarity search?

Accepted Answer

HNSW. HNSW (Hierarchical Navigable Small World) is a graph-based index specifically designed for approximate nearest neighbor search in high-dimensional vector spaces. It provides fast and accurate similarity search by building a multi-layer graph structure. Other index types like inverted, B-tree, or bitmap are not optimized for vector similarity.

Answer

Inverted Index

Answer

B-tree

Answer

Bitmap

Question 15

Which database feature is recommended for high-frequency inserts into a single table with minimal overhead?
