CLCOR Cloud And Hybrid Services — 15 Questions

Question 1

Which TWO steps are required to successfully deploy the Webex Hybrid Calendar service with Microsoft Exchange?

Accepted Answer

Create an impersonation role in Exchange. Option A is correct because the Webex Hybrid Calendar service connects to Microsoft Exchange via Exchange Web Services (EWS) using an impersonation account, so an ApplicationImpersonation management role must be created in Exchange and assigned to the service account that the connector uses. Option E is correct because the Expressway-based Hybrid Calendar solution requires deploying the Calendar Connector (formerly the Webex Calendar Connector) as a virtual machine on-premises, which brokers calendar data between Exchange and the Webex cloud. Option B is wrong because an H.323 gatekeeper is a voice/video call-routing component unrelated to calendar integration. Option C is wrong because enabling Webex Meetings on the local CUCM is a calling/meetings configuration step, not part of Hybrid Calendar deployment. Option D is wrong because disabling Active Directory integration is neither required nor desirable; directory synchronization is independent of the calendar connector's EWS impersonation setup.

Question 8

A user in your organization cannot see their on-premises calendar events in the Webex App. You have verified that the Webex Hybrid Calendar Service is registered. What is the most likely cause?

Accepted Answer

The Hybrid Calendar service account lacks 'Full Access' permissions to the user's mailbox.. The Webex Hybrid Calendar Service uses a service account (often called the 'Calendar Connector' or 'Expressway' service account) that must have Full Access permissions to each user's mailbox to read and write calendar events. If the service account lacks Full Access, the user's events will not appear in the Webex App even though the service is registered and running. This is the most common cause of missing calendar data in hybrid deployments.

Answer

The user is not assigned a Webex Calling license.

Answer

The Webex Hybrid Message Service is not running.

Answer

The Cisco Directory Connector has not synced the user object.

Question 9

Which command is used on the Expressway CLI to verify the status of the Hybrid Service connector process?

Accepted Answer

xstatus management services. The command 'xstatus management services' is used on the Expressway CLI to verify the status of the Hybrid Service connector process. This command queries the Expressway's management API and returns detailed status information for various services, including the Hybrid Service connector. It is the correct way to check if the connector is running and properly registered.

Answer

netstat -anp

Answer

utils webex status

Answer

Question 10

You are configuring Webex Hybrid Calendar with Microsoft 365. You want to ensure that 'Join' buttons appear on video devices for meetings. What must be configured?

Accepted Answer

Webex Room devices must be registered to the same organization.. For Webex Hybrid Calendar with Microsoft 365 to show 'Join' buttons on video devices, the Webex Room devices must be registered to the same Webex organization as the users whose calendars are being processed. The Join button is injected into the meeting invite by the Hybrid Calendar service, and the device must be able to resolve the meeting to a Webex meeting in that organization. If the device is registered to a different org, the calendar connector cannot associate the meeting with the device, and no Join button appears.

Answer

The Expressway-C must be in the DMZ.

Answer

Microsoft 365 AutoDiscover must be enabled.

Answer

The user must have a Webex Calling license.

Question 11

When a user is off-network, how do they connect to the corporate network resources if you have deployed Hybrid services?

Accepted Answer

The user must use a VPN client.. When off-network, users must use a VPN client to connect to corporate network resources if Hybrid services are deployed. Hybrid services (e.g., Calendar, Message, Call) do not provide direct access to internal resources; they require the Webex App to communicate with Expressway-E for MRA, but for full corporate resource access, VPN is still needed.

Answer

The Expressway-E provides direct access.

Answer

The Webex App automatically tunnels all traffic to the corporate network.

Answer

The Hybrid Services connector bridges the traffic.

Question 12

When troubleshooting a Hybrid Service, you need to collect 'Diagnostic Logs'. Where do you download these from?

Accepted Answer

The Expressway-C Maintenance > Diagnostics page.. Diagnostic Logs for Hybrid Services (such as Calendar, Call, or Messaging connectors) are downloaded from the Expressway-C's Maintenance > Diagnostics page. This page provides a 'Diagnostic Logging' section where you enable logging, reproduce the issue, and download the resulting log bundle for analysis or TAC submission.

Answer

The Webex App settings menu.

Answer

The Cisco CLI using the 'log collect' command.

Answer

Control Hub under the Troubleshooting tab.

Question 13

You are configuring a hybrid calling scenario. Which component must be configured to enable inter-cluster dialing between on-premises CUCM and Webex Calling?

Accepted Answer

A SIP Trunk between CUCM and the CUBE.. In a hybrid calling deployment, inter-cluster dialing between on-premises CUCM and Webex Calling requires a SIP trunk between CUCM and the CUBE (Cisco Unified Border Element). The CUBE acts as the session border controller that normalizes signaling and media between the enterprise and Webex Calling. This SIP trunk is the configured path for inter-cluster calls.

Question 14

You are troubleshooting a Webex Hybrid Calendar issue where meetings are missing for a specific user. What tool can you use to check the 'Calendar API' calls?

Accepted Answer

Expressway-C Calendar Connector status page.. The Expressway-C Calendar Connector status page is the correct tool because in Webex Hybrid Calendar (Exchange/Office 365 integration), the Expressway-C hosts the Calendar Connector service that makes Calendar API calls to the on-premises or cloud calendar. Its status page shows connector health, API call results, and per-user sync diagnostics, making it the right place to trace missing meetings for a specific user.

Question 15

Which protocol does the Webex Hybrid Message service use to communicate with the on-premises IM&P server?

Accepted Answer

XMPP. The Webex Hybrid Message service uses XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol) to communicate with the on-premises IM&P server because XMPP is the open standard for instant messaging and presence that Cisco IM&P (Jabber) supports. The Hybrid Message connector on Expressway-C translates between the Webex cloud's messaging service and the on-premises XMPP-based IM&P deployment. This allows cloud-registered Webex users to exchange messages with on-premises Jabber users.
