PL-900 Demonstrate the capabilities of Microsoft Copilot Studio — 15 Questions

Question 1

Which TWO actions can be performed using Microsoft Copilot Studio without writing custom code?

Accepted Answer

Trigger a Power Automate flow from a topic.. Option A is correct because Copilot Studio provides a built-in 'Call an action' node that lets a topic invoke a Power Automate cloud flow directly through a no-code configuration interface, so no custom code is required. Option D is correct because Copilot Studio includes native publishing channels, including Microsoft Teams, that can be enabled with a few clicks from the Publish page without writing any code. Option B is incorrect because integrating with a custom API by writing JavaScript requires custom code, which contradicts the no-code constraint. Option C is incorrect because training a custom machine learning model is not a no-code capability of Copilot Studio and falls outside its standard authoring features. Option E is incorrect because deploying to a third-party website using custom HTML involves custom code rather than a built-in no-code deployment option.

Answer

Integrate with a custom API by writing JavaScript code.

Answer

Train the copilot with a custom machine learning model.

Answer

Deploy the copilot to a third-party website using custom HTML.

Question 2

A company uses Microsoft Copilot Studio to build a copilot that answers questions from a large set of PDF documents stored in SharePoint Online. The copilot must provide accurate answers and cite the source document. The documents are frequently updated. Which feature should you use to ensure the copilot always uses the latest content?

Accepted Answer

Use the 'Generate answers' feature with a SharePoint data source and enable automatic synchronization.. Generative answers with a SharePoint data source and automatic synchronization keep the copilot's knowledge current. When documents are updated in SharePoint, the copilot reflects those changes, ensuring accurate answers and citations. This is a built-in capability that requires minimal configuration and supports dynamic content.

Answer

Use the 'Search' feature with a SharePoint connector and configure it to query the document library in real-time.

Answer

Manually upload the PDF documents to the copilot's knowledge base and set a recurring reminder to re-upload them.

Answer

Create a Power Automate flow that triggers when a file is modified in SharePoint and updates the copilot's knowledge base via the Copilot Studio API.

Question 3

A maker has built a copilot in Microsoft Copilot Studio that includes a topic triggered when a user types a specific phrase. The maker wants the copilot to collect the user's employee ID and then use it in a subsequent question. Which feature should the maker use to store the employee ID for later use in the conversation?

Accepted Answer

A topic variable. Copilot Studio uses variables to store and reuse values during a conversation. A topic variable is scoped to the topic and can be referenced in subsequent nodes, making it the correct choice for capturing an employee ID and using it later. Environment variables and flow variables serve different purposes and are not suitable for this conversational data capture.

Answer

An environment variable

Answer

A global variable

Answer

A Power Automate flow variable

Question 4

A company is building a copilot with Microsoft Copilot Studio to handle internal IT support requests. The copilot must be able to create a ticket in an external ticketing system and then notify the user of the ticket number. The ticketing system exposes a REST API. Which TWO actions should you perform to achieve this? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

Create a custom connector for the ticketing system's REST API and use it in a Power Automate flow.. To integrate with an external ticketing system's REST API, you need a custom connector that defines the API's endpoints and authentication. Then, you use a Power Automate flow with that connector to create the ticket. The copilot invokes the flow via the 'Call an action' node, which returns the ticket number to the user. This two-step approach is the recommended pattern.

Answer

Embed the ticketing system's API key in the copilot's authentication settings and call the API from a topic.

Answer

Configure the copilot to use the 'Send an HTTP request' action directly within a topic to call the ticketing system's API.

Answer

Use the 'Create a record' action in the Common Data Service to insert a ticket directly.

Question 5

A healthcare organization has a copilot built with Microsoft Copilot Studio that answers patient questions about appointment policies. The copilot uses a knowledge source pointing to a SharePoint site. Patients report that when they ask about a newly updated policy, the copilot still provides the old information even though the SharePoint document was updated hours ago. The organization wants the copilot to reflect the latest content without rebuilding the knowledge source. What should the organization do?

Accepted Answer

Manually trigger a refresh of the knowledge source in Copilot Studio.. Copilot Studio knowledge sources are indexed periodically, so recent changes may not appear immediately. A manual refresh forces the index to update with the latest content from the SharePoint site. This is the correct action to make the copilot reflect the updated policy without recreating the knowledge source or altering connections. Republishing alone does not trigger a content re-index.

Answer

Republish the copilot to refresh the knowledge source.

Answer

Change the knowledge source to use a different SharePoint library.

Answer

Delete and recreate the SharePoint site connection.

Question 6

A financial services company has a copilot built with Microsoft Copilot Studio that provides information about investment products. The copilot uses generative answers from a website. The compliance team requires that all responses include a disclaimer and that the copilot does not provide any financial advice. Which feature should you configure to enforce these requirements?

Accepted Answer

Configure the 'Generative answers' settings to use a custom prompt that instructs the model to avoid financial advice and append a disclaimer.. Generative answers in Copilot Studio allow you to provide a custom prompt that guides the AI model's behavior. By instructing the model to avoid financial advice and append a disclaimer, you can ensure every response complies with the requirements. This is a direct and effective way to enforce content policies.

Answer

Enable the 'Authentication' feature and require users to accept terms and conditions before using the copilot.

Answer

Use the 'Content moderation' settings to block responses that contain financial advice and add a disclaimer message.

Answer

Modify the 'Conversation boosting' settings to include a disclaimer in every response.

Question 7

A university is building a copilot with Microsoft Copilot Studio to help students find course information. The copilot must authenticate students so it can retrieve their personalized schedule from a protected API. The university wants to use the built-in authentication options in Copilot Studio. Which authentication setting should the university configure?

Accepted Answer

Authenticate manually with OAuth 2.0. To authenticate students who may not be in the university's Microsoft tenant, manual OAuth 2.0 authentication is the appropriate built-in setting. It supports any OAuth 2.0-compliant identity provider, allowing the copilot to verify student identity and access personalized data from a protected API. The other options either lack authentication or are limited to Microsoft Entra ID users, which may not cover all students.

Answer

No authentication

Answer

Authenticate with Microsoft

Answer

Use a Power Virtual Agents bot channel registration

Question 8

A maker is configuring authentication for a Copilot Studio copilot that will be used by internal employees on Microsoft Teams. The copilot must identify users and use their Microsoft Entra ID credentials to access protected resources. Which two authentication options should the maker consider? (Choose two.)

Accepted Answer

Authenticate with Microsoft. For internal employees using Microsoft Teams, Copilot Studio offers authentication with Microsoft and Microsoft Entra ID single sign-on. Both use Microsoft Entra ID to identify users and enable access to protected resources. Manual OAuth, generic OAuth, and no authentication do not meet the requirement of using Microsoft Entra ID credentials for internal users.

Answer

Authenticate with generic OAuth 2.0 providers

Answer

No authentication

Answer

Authenticate manually with OAuth 2.0

Question 9

A maker has a Copilot Studio copilot that uses generative answers. Users report that the copilot sometimes provides answers that are not grounded in the configured knowledge sources. The maker wants to reduce ungrounded responses. What should the maker do?

Accepted Answer

Enable content moderation and set the generative answers to use only configured knowledge sources.. To reduce ungrounded generative answers, the maker should configure the copilot to use only the approved knowledge sources and enable content moderation. This ensures answers are based on the intended content and filters unsafe material. Disabling generative answers entirely, adding topics, or changing channels do not address the root cause of ungrounded responses.

Answer

Disable generative answers and rely only on authored topics.

Answer

Publish the copilot to a different channel.

Answer

Increase the number of topics in the copilot.

Question 10

A company wants to create a custom copilot that answers employee questions about IT policies. The copilot must use existing SharePoint documents as a knowledge source. Which feature of Microsoft Copilot Studio should the company use?

SharePoint authentication

Question 13

A company wants to extend their existing copilot built with Copilot Studio to trigger a workflow when an employee requests time off. The workflow must create a record in a Dataverse table and send an approval email. What should the copilot developer use?

Accepted Answer

Add a Power Automate flow as a plugin. Copilot Studio allows extending a copilot's capabilities by adding a Power Automate flow as a plugin. This enables the copilot to trigger a workflow that creates a record in a Dataverse table and sends an approval email, directly fulfilling the requirement without needing to embed an app or use AI Builder.

Answer

Embed a Power Apps canvas app

Answer

Use AI Builder to create a model

Answer

Configure the Dataverse connector directly

Question 14

A company is designing a copilot using Microsoft Copilot Studio. The copilot must handle sensitive employee data. Which TWO actions should the administrator take to ensure data security and compliance?

Accepted Answer

Configure data loss prevention (DLP) policies to restrict data movement. Option B is correct because configuring data loss prevention (DLP) policies in the Power Platform admin center lets the administrator control which connectors and actions the Copilot Studio copilot can use, preventing sensitive employee data from being moved to unauthorized services or external endpoints. Option D is correct because turning off the 'Data for training' option ensures that conversation content and user inputs are not used to train or improve Microsoft's underlying AI models, which is essential when handling sensitive employee data under privacy and compliance requirements. Options A and C are wrong because enabling anonymous access or disabling authentication would expose sensitive data to unauthenticated users, directly violating security and compliance goals. Option E is wrong because adding public websites as knowledge sources could pull untrusted external content into the copilot and does not protect sensitive employee data.

Answer

Enable anonymous access to allow external users

Answer

Disable authentication to simplify access

Answer

Add public websites as knowledge sources

Question 15

A company has configured the copilot as shown in the exhibit. Users report that the copilot is not answering questions about HR policies that were updated in the SharePoint site today. What is the most likely cause?

Accepted Answer

The knowledge source refresh interval is set to weekly. The copilot's knowledge source refresh interval is set to weekly, meaning it only re-indexes the SharePoint site every seven days. Since the HR policies were updated today, the copilot is still using the stale, pre-update content and cannot answer questions about the new policies until the next scheduled refresh occurs.

Answer

The public website refresh is set to daily

Answer

Authentication is not properly configured

Answer

Generative AI is disabled
